10.01.2022 In September 2019, I lead a team from MarketPlace Fresh to hike the Kokoda Trek all in the name of charity! We took on this challenging adventure to help raise some much-needed funds for the inspiring charity, HeartKids Australia. The team certainly agreed that the Kokoda Trail’s reputation of being a huge challenge is warranted, especially as we carried our own packs. Towards the end of the Challenge we also picked up the pace to finish in a remarkable 7.5 days. We trained ...incredibly hard and the support we received from our family, friends and community was incredible and very motivating in finishing the mentally and physically challenging adventure. Myself and my team at MarketPlace Fresh want to make a difference for the amazing kids’ by raising some much-needed funds. Myself and my team at MarketPlace Fresh raised $55,000 on Kokoda for HeartKids Australia. https://www.humachallenge.com//Trekking-Kokoda-for-HeartKi
04.01.2022 The reason we pay council rates every year is to maintain our parks and amenities, it is not appropriate that ONLY Keysborough South residents are forced to pay an additional $350.00 over and above everyone else in the City of Greater Dandenong. It’s unfair, it’s been going on for many years. Those facilities are used and made available to all people in the City of Greater Dandenong.... Now more than ever, especially with Covid-19, people are going through tough times and we need to work as hard as we can to remove it. Greens candidate Rhonda Garad said, I don’t support removing it, because the council need extra resources to maintain the extra parks and gardens. But residents should be getting more timely, quality service. At the moment, they’re not getting it. Ramy El-Sukkari said the maintenance fund was initially intended to last for just three years. Now there seems to be no end-point, he said. He has sought an explanation on what the levy was used for, given its reserve fund held a surplus of about $1.7 million. We’ve got people affected by Covid and families are really struggling. So is the $350 levy justifiable? Can it be reduced? Is there a way of scrapping it all completely? https://dandenong.starcommunity.com.au//levy-debate-cross/
