25.01.2022 Talking to train commuters in Albert Park this morning about the disastrous privatisation of our trains in South Australia by Steven Marshall & the Liberals. We now pay a foreign-owned company $488,584 per day to run our train network in South Australia. Labor will bring our trains & trams back into public hands.
24.01.2022 Great news! Let’s bring this race back where it belongs!
24.01.2022 To help South Australian families with their cost of living, the Government should reverse their hikes and freeze increases to fees and charges. The Marshall Li...beral Government's State Budget has failed to deliver any cost of living relief from last year's unprecedented $500 million hike to fees, charges and taxes. We've called on the Government to follow the lead of Western Australia and Victoria to freeze fees and charges - but this plea has been ignored.
24.01.2022 2021 Census Job Opportunities The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has commenced nationwide recruitment of Census Field Managers for the 2021 Census. The next Census will be held on Tuesday 10 August 2021. A key part of the 2021 Census is the engagement of a large temporary workforce of around 38,000 staff. ... The ABS will recruit 2,665 Census Field Managers nationwide. Each Field Manager will train, lead and manage a team of Field Officers in their local area of responsibility. Census Field Manager roles are short-term and recruited locally where possible to ensure they are familiar with the local area. The ABS has appointed The Adecco Group to assist with the recruitment of temporary staff to support the 2021 Census. The roles will be advertised on https://www.censusjobs.adecco.com.au/
23.01.2022 I said this 345 days ago. And I still mean it. Steven Marshall's decision to hand $2.14 billion to an overseas company to run our train network will hurt comm...uters. They now face cuts to trains, poorer services and higher fares. I announced last year that if elected, we will get back our trains and trams into public hands because everyone deserves a fair go. And that means public transport for people, not for private profit.
23.01.2022 Unfortunately this is the current state of front verges between Glenburnie St & Pedlar St, Seaton. I have made contact with the City Of Charles Sturt regarding these overgrown verges, requesting that they are attended to. Feel free to contact my office if you live in the Lee electorate & your verges are overgrown on 84494288 or [email protected]
22.01.2022 I’m about to fly out to Sydney to meet with V8 Supercars Australia chief executive Sean Seamer. Steven Marshall’s decision to axe the Adelaide 500 V8 supercar ...race means South Australia is set to lose tens of millions of dollars of economic activity, hundreds of jobs and thousands of interstate tourists. I am taking immediate action, which is why I am flying to Sydney today to meet with V8 Supercars chief executive Sean Seamer about the future of the race.
22.01.2022 And this privatisation by Steven Marshall starts tomorrow.

21.01.2022 We honour those who have fought for our country, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget.

21.01.2022 Having suggested in a constructive way that we stop medi hotels in their current form until a safer solution is found, I very much welcome this news.
20.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: The Marshall Liberal Government have just announced they are handing over $2.14 billion of taxpayers money to an overseas company to run our train network.
17.01.2022 South Australia under Steven Marshall: Highest jobless rate. Lowest stimulus.

16.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: South Australia should immediately launch a comprehensive bid to lure Qantas and Jetstar Australia's headquarters to Adelaide, amid news the nati...onal carrier is considering relocation. This presents an incredible opportunity for South Australia to secure hundreds, if not thousands, of long-term jobs for our State. There are more than 170,000 South Australians who are unemployed or underemployed. We cannot afford to let an opportunity like this pass us by.

11.01.2022 As Members of Parliament one of our most important jobs is lawmaking and to ensure our laws meet community expectations. In late July, Labor introduced urgent ...legislation into Parliament that would slash the maximum sentencing discounts available to serious offenders. Because the Marshall Liberal Government blocked our legislation, killers, child sex offenders and drug kingpins continue to be eligible for large sentencing discounts of up to 40%. This is unacceptable and the Parliament must act urgently. We need to put a stop to these large sentencing discounts that allow serious criminals to get out of prison early.
11.01.2022 Great to be out and about yesterday in Royal Park hosting Street Corner Meetings to listen to the views & concerns of local residents with Mark Butler MP, Mayor Angela Evans & Councillor Tolley Wasylenko.
11.01.2022 All other restrictions under the Stay at Home Direction will remain in place until midnight Saturday. From Sunday, 22 November at 12.01am, restrictions will be eased. South Australia Police will provide more details shortly.
11.01.2022 If elected, South Australian Labor has promised to take back our trains and trams and put them back in public hands, where they belong.
09.01.2022 Currently across my electorate & the City of Charles Sturt, verges are well overgrown making our local streets look unsightly & reducing local pride in the area we live. Yesterday, I wrote to the Mayor of the City of Charles Sturt with a suggestion to increase the number of times verges are cut in our area to prevent this issue moving forward
08.01.2022 Fantastic as always
07.01.2022 South Australian Labor will introduce legislation to establish a specific criminal offence for desecrating a war memorial or monuments. This follows the vandal...isation near the National War Memorial on North Terrace just before Remembrance Day. War Memorials honour those who have fought for our country, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Last year, I wrote to Steven Marshall offering to work with him to introduce legislation that would protect our War memorials. He rejected that offer and instead suggested the Graffiti Control Act 2001 with a maximum penalty of 18 months imprisonment would be sufficient. It is clear a maximum penalty of 18 months imprisonment for desecrating War memorials and their surrounds is insufficient. Which is why we will be introducing our own legislation with a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.
06.01.2022 Beautiful day for the Procession and Holy Mass for Our Lady of Perpetual Grace at Mater Christi Church with Joe Szakacs MP
05.01.2022 We are against this train privatisation. And is why we’ll take our trains back into public hands if elected.
05.01.2022 Check out the City Of Charles Sturt latest concepts from the exciting West Lakes Library and Community Centre project. The state of the art facility is currently under construction as part of WEST development.
04.01.2022 Whyalla’s highly anticipated new jetty will be officially unveiled today, after the former Labor Government provided $1 million for its build. The jetty features an iconic 'loop' on the Whyalla shoreline, and will further cement the city’s reputation as one of the State’s prime marine destinations. The new structure will ensure the facilities remain accessible, operational, and support local communities and business well into the future.... The Former Labor Government worked together with the Whyalla City Council to fund this new jetty.

02.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: Laws to remove significant sentencing discounts for serious offenders like murderers and child sex offenders have just passed the House of Assembly. They will now go to the Legislative Council & Labor stands ready to pass this legislation as quickly as possible.
02.01.2022 As we count down the final hours of the lockdown, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. We have looked after each other as much as we have looked after ...ourselves. And we have remained calm, steadfast and resolute in tackling this challenge. All of us had an important role and we all rose to that challenge. So if you stayed at home or were out working, providing support or getting tested - thank you. We’ve done this in a way only South Australians can.
