24.01.2022 I know the past few weeks have been challenging for many South Australians. From day one we have been clear that we do not want any restrictions in place for o...ne day longer than they need to be. So I’m pleased to confirm that on Tuesday, December 1, restrictions in South Australia will be easing. These changes will only be in place for 2 weeks as we chart our course towards Christmas. The South Australian border restrictions with Victoria will be lifted completely from Tuesday, 1 December. I know this will be a huge relief to many families, business and communities as we head into the holiday season. But I continue to stress this point: we can and we must continue to act on the unequivocal health advice to keep SA safe and strong. I am so proud that we have worked together to beat this silent enemy, and to get through this united.

20.01.2022 If you're looking for a bit of outdoor adventure while in the Barossa Valley, be sure to stop by the Warren or South Para Reservoir. South Australians can now a...ccess these reservoirs freely for recreational activities including kayaking and fishing. There's also great walking and cycling trails with stunning views. Our decision to open our reservoirs is bringing regional areas to life. Barossa Kayak Hire is a new business that is opening as a direct result of our policy. Owner Matt Hale says his business will allow visitors to hire fishing and kayak equipment at Warren Reservoir. Stay tuned for updates on progress of the opening of other reservoirs around the state.

These important changes protect public health, provide a welcome boost to the hospitality and events sector and also give people more freedom when celebrating special events. ... Thank you to all South Australians for your patience as we ease restrictions.

17.01.2022 We believe our children and their families should have access to the most advanced hospital care in the world. Today we’ve taken a major step towards this goal..., with drilling works for soil testing beginning at the site of the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Importantly, we’re consulting with clinicians and stakeholders and getting their valuable input into the design of the new hospital something the former Labor Government failed to do when building the NRAH.

11.01.2022 ANNOUNCED TODAY: We are further easing COVID-19 restrictions in SA. These important changes will get more businesses back to business and more people back in jo...bs, especially for those in the hospitality and events sectors who have been doing it tough. It will also mean people have more freedom to celebrate special occasions the way they want to. From 12.01am, 3 October, standing hospitality will be able to resume outdoors at licensed venues. Furthermore, private functions at licensed venues with a maximum of 150 guests, like weddings, will be able to have standing consumption and dancing. This can be indoors or outdoors. However, there is a strict condition that contact tracing records are kept of all guests and other specific requirements like having a COVID Marshal present are met. I sincerely thank South Australians for their cooperation as we continue to ease restrictions.

06.01.2022 A message on car parking at the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital: We want to reassure South Australians that claims there will be 172 less car park spaces at the new WCH are false. The hospital car park has not been designed yet. There has been no number put on car park spaces. ... There is an extensive planning process underway which is assessing the projected demand for car parks and the needs of people visiting the hospital. Hospital staff and consumers will play a vital role in informing this process. Planning for a world-class facility takes time and effort. We already have 150 people working on the project. We thank South Australians for their patience while we work through these details. We have invested $550 million as the first step towards the development of the hospital, which will provide the state’s women and children with the most advanced hospital care, technology and medical research.

01.01.2022 The Dog Fence is one of the longest structures in the world and has been helping to protect Australia's livestock industry for generations. However, a number of... sections of the Dog Fence are more than 100 years old and in urgent need of replacement to stop the incursion of wild dogs. We've embarked on a once-in-a-generation $25 million rebuild of 1,600 kilometres of the fence. This rebuild will benefit the pastoral industry and supporting outback communities through reduced wild dog management costs, employment opportunities and choices about whether they choose to run sheep or cattle.
