25.01.2022 8 months old . This little button was 8 months old last week. I want to remember her littleness forever, I feel ever since we passed the 6month mark, we have been on a rapid rise towards her first birthday. I can’t deal. My last baby is racing very fast towards becoming a toddler she is crawling, has 4 (maybe 5 haven’t checked in a while) teeth, likes to pull up on things, pulls the funniest faces, adores her brother and sister and loves playing with them, she is so obser...vant, has decided she likes daycare now and will finally take a bottle of EBM (expresses breast milk) while at daycare. She still loves (insists) on sleeping on me or someone else for all of her naps and we still have her in our room in her bassinet, I’m basically thinking she will be there until she is a teenager because I don’t want her to go into her own room ever See more

20.01.2022 Lately I have been feeling angry. It took me a little bit to actually figure out what was causing this massive build up of rage. I was focusing way too much on the what ifs, on what I was no longer able to do and my perceived loss of control (Hi my name is Steph and I’m a control freak). I still feel angry now, but it’s not as bad, now that I have acknowledged it and taken steps to move it through my body. I am taking a bit of time to step back, focus on the now and the thing...s that are in my control, how I think, feel, act and behave. I’ll still be here, posting pictures of bread and other random shit to my stories, but I won’t be scrolling through reading all of the things as much. . I hope everyone is staying well, especially all of my fellow Melbournians... if you are struggling or need someone to talk to, reach out, I’m here and more than happy to talk. See more

16.01.2022 Business branding . I love seeing your own personality come through in the photos. It’s often the first interaction your client has with you. The first impression of you when they visit your website or social media account. It’s so important to portray who you are so that your client can get to know a little bit about you. . .... . . #businessbrandingphotographer #businessbrandingsession #brandingphotography #photographyforbusiness #melbournephotographer #melbournebrandingphotographer See more

15.01.2022 Branding sessions. . In the lead up to your branding session we will get together (or have a zoom chat given the latest lockdown restrictions happening in Melb) to work out who your ideal client is and what message you want to send them. We can discuss different outfit choices that would suit the feel of your brand, and also any props that you might want to include in your session. . I am still taking bookings for late Aug and early Sept for branding and all other sessions. T...he bonus to this lockdown is that we just get a little more time to plan and that we are also closer to the nicer weather once the lockdown is lifted. . 14.01.2022 CHRISTMAS MINI SESSIONS . I am so excited to be able to offer these sessions to you! Covid has really rocked the majority of us around this year, so let’s finish 2020 off with a bang. (Preferably not a Covid related dramatic bang, but a very normal low key ordinary type of one) This is the perfect time to capture how much your little ones have grown during isolation, to make memories and also awesome Christmas gifts. I think this year has really taught us to not take thin...gs for granted and not put off doing those things that we want to do until the right time or later so let’s do this! . A bit of info about the sessions. These bite sized, fun filled sessions, are designed to capture beautiful memories with your family that you can treasure for a lifetime. . Sessions will run for 15min and includes 5 images. Images will be delivered to you via a private online gallery with full printing rights, edited and in high resolution. To book, click the link in my bio. Due to Covid, I won’t be doing a full set up with props etc this year. We will be focusing on capturing you as a family without all the fluff. But I mean if you want to come in matching Christmas jumpers, I would be totally down for that too! Sessions will be held over 2 afternoons in mid Nov and there are very limited places available and I know they will book out fast. I will also be closing bookings a week out from the first session so that I have time to plan etc. but don’t worry I will give you lots of reminders. Thats all from me, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I’m always up for a chat. . . . . #melbournelifrstylephotographer #lifestylephotographermelbourne #melbournefamilyphotographer #familyphotographermelbourne #maternityphotographermelbourne #beaconsfieldupperphotographer #berwickphotographer #dandenongrangesphotographer #photographermelbournesoutheast #photographerchristmasmelbourne See more

08.01.2022 Sleepy, snuggly, cuddles. Daytime sleep isn’t coming as easily as it used to. So we roll with it and she just sleeps when and where she wants. Today she slept snuggled up against me in the ring sling at the park, while the big kids played. Sometimes it’s in the car, sometimes it’s in my arms on the couch and rarely it’s in her actual bed . I know her sleeping on me is only for such a short time and soon she will be napping in her bed like her big brother, I will miss th...e snuggles, as much as I miss my personal space at times now. . . . . #babycarrier #ringsling #carrythemclose #babywearing #babywearingmama #doula #postpartumdoula #melbournedoula See more

07.01.2022 weekend . Weekends always feel a little strange when we (my husband really) are on holidays. Days all seem to blend into one and I can really only tell the difference between days by whether it’s a work day or not (nursing). . I have been having slight flash backs to when we were in lock down and have been conscious to get out and see people to remind myself that I am not restricted to my house, have also been really conscious of my self ...care as well. I tend to let it slip during holidays, so it’s good to keep up the consistency and do it even when I don’t want to. I have started getting up before everyone in the morning, some mornings it’s hard, but I always feel so good after that quiet hour to myself, before everyone is up. How are you spending your holidays? Or are you back at work? Also reminder that all sessions booked this month receive 10% off. . . . . #melbournenewbornphotographer #newbornphotographermelbourne #melbournelifestylephotographer #lifestylephotographermelbourne #candidmemories #melbournenewborns #mumsofmelbourne #melbournemums #lifestylephotography #melbournematernityphotographer #melbournedocumentaryphotographer #melbournefamilyphotographer #familyphotographermelbourne See more

06.01.2022 World breastfeeding week. . So many things that I wanted to write for world breastfeeding week. But in this Covid mess it’s not happening. So here is a pic of me feeding my youngest. . A few quick tips, breastfeeding is a learnt skill for you and your baby (I didn’t truely learn this until my third, I just assumed they all came out instinctively knowing how to feed correctly, yeah nope not true, sometimes you need a little bit of help, I did with Elsie)... . Research as much as you can about normal newborn behaviour and feeding patterns (or lack thereof). Reach out to professionals or trusted people in your circle for help and support. I highly recommend @maternalinstinctsbyamberley She has an amazing online course you can do, she also offers one-on-one support too! @the_roxanne_may is also another wonderful source of information/support. . You will get different advice from every professional/person (ahem the random lady at the checkout ) that you come across. While well intentioned, the best thing you can do is follow your instinct with what feels right for you and your baby. If you are doing something because Martha from mothers group told you to and it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not right for you and your baby. What’s right for one person may not suit someone else. We are all different, only you know what works best for you and your family! . And finally surround yourself with people that will support you, hold you, hear you and love you. It can be tough. I had no idea how isolated and trapped I would feel in those early months feeding a baby. I felt my freedom and ability to do as I please had been ripped out from under me. If you are feeling like this, try and make some time for yourself, do something that makes you happy and fills your cup, reach out and ask for help. I promise it does ease up as the months go by. . Breastfeeding has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done. My mind is still blown that I can fully nourish another human from something my body makes. . . . . . #wbw2020 #worldbreastfeedingweek #breastfedbaby #breastfeedingnewborn #breastfeedingmum #breastfeedingtips #breastfeedingsupport See more

06.01.2022 STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING, and watch what's probably the Ad of the Year. The #wombstories campaign for Bodyform, created by AMVBBDO + Framestore and directed by Emmy winner Nisha Ganatra, is a masterpiece of craft and message. Truly, truly, bloody brilliant (pun intended).

05.01.2022 Mama . It’s time to get in front of the camera! I know it feels weird and uncomfortable, you are so used to being the one documenting everything. But trust me, when your kids look back on photos of when they were little, they want to see you! They want to see you having fun with them, mucking around, playing. They don’t care about all of the things you list as reasons you don’t want to get in front of the camera, heck they don’t even see those things the way that you do! Th...ey just want to see you, in pictures with them, I promise. . Yes it will feel weird at first and yes you may criticise how you look when you see the photos, but you need to look at it from your kids perspective. They love, admire and adore you. They love every curve, every lump and bump, because they love you with all that they have, you are their world. Show them that, show up in the photos! Give the camera to someone else, the more you do it, the easier it gets. I promise, I was exactly the same when I first had my daughter. Now it doesn’t bother me at all (I think that’s obvious by the fact I posted a picture of me in my undies). I know it’s hard, but honestly, what is the worst thing that could happen? Truely? Do it!! . Conveniently I have 3 mini session spots left, so if you feel called to start getting in front of the camera, now is the time, I have got you, I know how it feels and I will guide you through the process to make it fun filled and easy! . . . . #melbournelifestylephotographer #melbournefamilyphotographer #lifestylephotographermelbourne #familyphotographermelbourne #melbournenewbornphotographer #motherhoodcaptured #motherhoodphotography #motherhoodphotographer See more

04.01.2022 Those first weeks seem to fly by in an instant. You look at the teeny tiny clothes they once fit into and it all kind of feels like a dream. How were they once that tiny? Remembering the wonder and whirlwind, the smell and those little noises they made. The sleepless nights that felt never ending and the complete standstill inside your home while the rest of the world continued around you. . Capturing photos of your newborn in home is about so much more that just the images, ...we are also capturing memories, of bringing them home to your house, of seeing them in their cot for the first time, of how tiny they were, and all of those feelings. Book your in home newbie session now as I only have limited spots available each month. . . . . . #melbournenewbornphotographer #newbornphotographermelbourne #melbournelifestylephotographer #lifestylephotographermelbourne #candidmemories #melbournenewborns #mumsofmelbourne #melbournemums #lifestylephotography #melbournematernityphotographer #melbournedocumentaryphotographer See more

04.01.2022 Elsie is ONE . Just like that our littlest lady has completed her first lap around the sun! . 12 months ago I had the most empowering birthing experience, you have already taught me so much about myself in such a short amount of time and continue to challenge me in ways I never knew I needed. I am forever grateful that you chose me to be your Mumma little one.... . You love to play with your big brother and sister, Jed is your favourite. You make us work for your giggle, but when you do laugh it is infectious. You love to wave and say hello to people. You have 12 teeth and definitely use them to your advantage when your brother is stealing your toys you also love food, being outside and crawling around the house exploring your brother and sisters stuff (usually when they aren’t home) . You are our sweet little baby and we love seeing more and more of your personality unfold as you grow. Happy birthday littlest of the bunch, I cannot believe I now have a 1 year old! . Also doing your own family portraits is a nightmare, I don’t recommend it, pay someone else to do it I sure as hell will be from now on! See more

02.01.2022 2020 . It definitely didn’t unfold the way that I thought it would this time last year. In saying that, I come into most years with little expectations and like to just enjoy what comes my way. In saying that this year has been up there with one of the most challenging for me. My business took off, then lockdown number one and it all came to a screeching halt. Then it picked back up again, only for it to all come to a screeching halt again, this was hard, but I knew that it w...ould be okay because I had done it all once then twice before and I could do it again. I headed back to nursing right at the start of the second lockdown. The second lockdown was basically managed on survival mode, I was just getting through each day, hiding in my garden or numbing out with junk food or some other vice. I actually found the transition out of it much more challenging. During lockdown I could completely numb out and avoid everything because Chris was around to support me and pick up the pieces. But once he was back at work that’s when the struggles hit. My PND and PNA hit an all time low and I fell into a dark hole, the thought of even walking to the shops with all three kids felt impossible and overwhelming and some days doing anything more than sit on the couch while the kids binged movies felt like climbing Mount Everest. I asked for help. I started sharing how I was feeling with those around me, I went through a lot of self reflection and slowly climbed back up out of the hole again. My business built back up and is now again running better than ever, I have plans and goals for where I want to take my business and I am excited. I am in love with all that I am doing and I am forever grateful to 2020 for pushing me to my edge and helping to learn the lessons I needed to. I once again look to 2021, I have hopes and dreams yes, but my expectations aren’t fixed, everything that comes from 2021 is exactly what I need in my life, even if it feels like I am in hell at the time. So for now I set my goals and know even if I don’t reach them, in order to come close to achieving them, I will be further ahead than where I started and that in its self is an achievement. See more

01.01.2022 Archie is 3 . Just like that our little mate is 3. I can’t believe that 3 years ago today, I was birthing our tiny boy at home. He is our truck loving, tutu wearing, kind hearted, strong willed boy. We love you so so much and we are so grateful to have you in our lives.
