04.01.2022 So today I would like to share some helpful ways to balance a blocked or imbalanced base/root chakra (energy centre). This chakra is situated at the base of the spine and is associated with feelings of safety and grounding, survival on a basic level ie food, shelter, sleep and self-preservation. When it becomes blocked or imbalanced it can affect our sense of security, create doubt & fear and our emotional and physical well-being can suffer. You may feel restless, insecure, ...fearful, lack focus, be depressed, feel anxiety. The physical manifestations may include, spinal and leg problems, constipation, sciatica, impotence, prostate issues,haemorrhoids, colitis, eating disorders. There are many ways to work towards balancing this chakra and Reiki is one of the ways. Meditation, visualisation, yoga poses, aromatherapy, crystal healing, affirmations, acupuncture and sound therapy are some of the other ways to heal and balance this chakra. However you decide to do it, healing and balancing this chakra is important to do if you want to feel rooted in a life full of satisfaction, stability & inner strength. You will feel truly grateful for your life on this earth. VISUALISATION Sit or stand with your bare feet on the Earth. Breathe in and out to the count of five to relax and release tension from the body. Bring attention to the feet and visualise roots extending from the soles of your feet into Mother Earth, anchoring you. Allow the earth to nourish you through you feet, legs, and base chakra via the roots you have anchored into the ground. Feel how stabilizing this is. Stay with this for a few minutes. Then bring your attention to the top of the head (crown chakra). Visualise a shaft of white energising light flowing in through your head, down the spine, into your legs and finally the feet and into the roots you have put into the earth. Give this vitalising energy back to the earth in return to the nourishment she is giving you. When you are ready withdraw your roots and sit in contemplation about the grounding effect this has had.
