Today we ask you to share with us how you Make Your Mark. Help us to show the world why people with cerebral palsy are the masters of adaptation, creativity and innovation.' #CPMakeYourMark #WorldCPDay Learn more: worldcpday.org/blog

14.01.2022 A story by the Literacy 3 level class in the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program at STEPS in Cairns ... 'Sunshine, Swimming & Sightseeing at Trinity Beach 2nd December 2020: Bright and early Wednesday morning Literacy 3 headed to Trinity Beach. On arrival we walked along the beach discovering Turtle Rock and then continuing on a walking trail around the rocky headland. While were we seated on the rocks, marvelling at the view to Double island & Scout Hat a su...n shower cooled us all down beautifully. Some of us took the plunge and enjoyed the balmy water. Some enjoying more than others by swallowing many mouthfuls. Another student was so excited by her first swim at an Aussie beach that she dropped her phone in the ocean while photographing the waves. While some were swimming, others indulged in beachcombing, finding many treasures, whilst a further few lay on the cool grass under the shade of the Beach Almond trees. On the way to lunch we explored the WWII monuments, which both inspired and educated us about the role Cairns played in supporting the war effort. Lunch consisted of sensational salads, fantastic fish and chips and perfect wood fired pizzas. After such a memorable and tiring day a few fell asleep on the returning bus trip back to STEPS. Next day as we met up in class, we were reminded by the red faces that next time we need to re-apply sunscreen more often.' The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
