17.01.2022 Happy New Year to our friends and supporters of Steps with Hope! We hope and pray that 2021 is a brighter one than 2020 which has been challenge to all. I would... like to share a quick update about our immediate plans for Steps with Hope seeing as the border that the children cross to attend school remains closed and is likely to do so for a while. As you may have seen from my previous emails and on our website, the teachers have made makeshift school under a tree on a tarp in the village so that the children can at least continue their learning. After some discussion we have decided to build a shelter in the village that will act as a building to continue as school until the border opens and we can go back to our school building on the Thai side of the border. As you will see from the attached photos, construction is underway. This is a wonderful opportunity to give local builders work in these difficult times plus for the village to witness the love and support that comes from us all at Steps with Hope. When the border finally reopens, this structure will be used by our teachers to run other groups including Bible study, craft groups for the children and so on. What a blessing to be able to help with this. To continue with funding this we need as much help as possible. You might have contemplated monthly donating to a cause and now, starting a new year might be the time to do this. For as little as $10-$15 a week a huge difference can be made to these children who depend on us for education, food, Hope and much more.
