25.01.2022 Hi everyone, what a great viewing of Scotts video, i will get him to send me another video to post. Over the last couple of months we have done a couple of remote accesses. We are able to unlock security doors and front doors by use of remote controls. If you already have a remote control alarm, there is usually a spare button that can be programmed for remote door entry. Otherwise a remote system is very reasonable to purchase.... There are 2 requirements for remote door opening, a remote system and an electronic lock or gate release. The later will require a locksmith if not installed. Any questions?
25.01.2022 Stern's Electrical is installing custom work for internet and Foxtel cabling.
24.01.2022 What have I been up to? Summer equals ceiling fans. I have 4 to put up tomorrow morning at 2 separate jobs. http://www.sternselectrical.com.au/#ceilingfans
24.01.2022 Rain, because of all the rain we have been doing a lot of inside work. Our clients favourite have been the LED conversions, replacing the high energy halogen globes with LED downlights. The new LED downlights actually now produce more light than the halogens and use 80% less power. That means 5 LED lights use as much energy as 1 halogen globe.... Have a great week
23.01.2022 Safety switches are affected by moisture. Remember to check external power points if your safety switch wont reset. Examples are pools and spas, ponds and power points for instantaneous hot water systems such as the Rinnai Hot water Systems
22.01.2022 summer is on its way. Ceiling fans, ceiling fans and ceiling fans. With remote control fans with lights, just leave the remote by the bed and the switch can turn on and off the light. Brilliant!
22.01.2022 Another excellent video made by Scott
21.01.2022 We are installing at least 5 ceiling fans per week.
21.01.2022 There are 2 type of smoke detectors, ionization and photoelectric. If you're smoke detector has false alarms it could be either the wrong type for the installation or it is situated in the wrong place. Also remember to test your smoke alarm regularly, just press the test button.
20.01.2022 The team at Sterns Electrical are looking at extending our communications services by offering fibre optic work. I would like to know if our clients are interested in Sterns Electrical carrying out this service for them. thanks richard
20.01.2022 Good morning everyone, Hope you all stay dry this week. looks like lots of rain which means lots of electrical issues after the dry spell. Here is another video made by Scott for Sterns Electrical in Bondi. ... Scott still says there is a bit of work to do, but its pretty good so far.
19.01.2022 Remember to test your smoke detectors. Smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years as they are not as effective.
16.01.2022 Good evening everyone. Recently we have been installing LED down lights to replace halogen down lights. The new LED look better, use up 80% less energy, create virtually no heat and can last up to 14 years when used 12 hours a day. We have also been doing a lot of networking in peoples come for smart TVs and extensions of WIFI network.... LED lights have come right down in price and the pay back in energy saving is 1-1.5 years. Please let me know if you are interested in a quote

12.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, This week have started doing ceiling fans again. I thought this week i could answer any of your questions.... Post away
11.01.2022 I've been amazed at how many emails I am getting from all the lighting shops advertising the price of ceiling fans. they have got REALLY cheap during winter. It seems to be the right time to buy online or in store and have it installed before the summer rush.
10.01.2022 When you adjust your clocks for daylight savings on Sunday morning (April 6), change your smoke alarm batteries at the same time. How many people did this? We also recommend testing the smoke alarm as well. There is a small test button on the front of each alarm which you hold in for a few seconds till the smoke alarm beeps. If it doesnt beep it time to replace the unit.... Did you know that smoke alarms have a use by date? Because of the materials used in smoke alarms they have a life of 10 years. Again, after 10 years the smoke alarm should be replaced. If your smoke alarm is going off when you cook then you could have the wrong type of smoke alarm installed. Lastly, smoke alarms use a 9 Volt battery which is the rectangle battery
10.01.2022 It has been a crazy week with emergency working repairing all electrical faults caused by the rain. Some hints regarding locating a fault when the safety switch constantly trips. - unplug all devices, don't forget dishwashers, insinkerators and the spare fridge. - Check all outside power points including plug for instantaneous hot water systems. -turn off the safety switch and the circuit breakers being protected by the safety switch (usually on the right hand side)... - Reset the safety switch. If it does not reset try turning all the circuit breakers off (not the main switch), if this does not work there is a bigger issue. - turn each circuit breaker on one at a time and see if any trip the circuit, if one trips the safety switch leave that circuit breaker off and do this process again. - plug appliances in one at a time to see if the circuit holds. 10.01.2022 Congratulations to Scott who has been licensed for over a year. I have just passed my 23rd anniversary, not including our 4 year apprenticeship. How long have you been in your chosen profession?
10.01.2022 Stern's Electrical services appearing on Channel 9 News on Thursday 12th May 2011 discussing photoelectric smoke alarms

01.01.2022 Do you know the difference between Photoelectric & Ionisation Smoke Alarms? Ionisation technology is designed to detect fast flaming fires through the use of ions which are charged by a small amount of radioactive material. The chamber containing these ions are sensitive to small particles of combustion which when enter the chamber, disrupt the balance of ions and cause the alarm to sound. Photoelectric technology is designed to detect smouldering smoke. These smoke alarms c...ontain a chamber with a light source projected into it. When visible smoke enters the chamber, it scatters and disturbs the light source, causing the alarm to sound. Download an information sheet on Photoelectric V Ionisation technology here. FPA Australia considers that ALL residential buildings should be fitted with the photoelectric smoke alarms in order to treat the highest fire safety risk. Why Photoelectric? The more common type of fire to occur in a home while occupants are sleeping is most likely to be smoldering fire. This article was written by FPA Australia. The brand Stern's Electrical most commonly use.
01.01.2022 When your safety switch won't reset, try unplugging all portable devices. Turning the power point switches off is not enough as the safety switch can still "see" the appliance.
