Often referred to as the "Apple Isle Fiddler", Eileen McCoy taught herself to play the fiddle at age 14. Over her lifetime she accumulated a vast repertoire of old time and popular dance tunes representing over 150 years of Australian musical heritage and tradition. McCoy was raised in rural Tasmania on the family farm at Gunns Plains. Her father played the accordion and other members of her family sang and played the fiddle and swanee whistle. As a family they played at fortnightly social dances in the region,

19.01.2022 'Before and After' is a lovely Huon Valley Waltz collected from The Dawson family of Swamp Rd. Sorry about the narrow screen and in and out light...Steve is playing on the Solana, a classical guitar/banjo hybrid which is great for parlour music, early music and also ragtime.
