13.01.2022 For those who may remember my demonstrations with Nikki & Beau.... Cascade is Nikki's one & only off-spring. She is often named "Christmas" or "July" as these are the only times of year that I have time to train her.
12.01.2022 STEVE'S MONTHLY TRAINING TIP - AUGUST LARGE LATERAL BENDS When asking for full lateral bends ie. one rein stops or bending and flexing towards the stirrups at stand still, use a short rein and pull back toward the outside of your leg onto the seam of your jeans somewhere between your knee and hip and be particular that the outside rein has gone loose and does not interfere with the bend. Also have a little weight on the stirrup you are bending towards - when you bend like thi...s it will keep the horse balanced. DO NOT pull the rein across your body towards your belly or opposite shoulder or put weight on your outside stirrup - This may cause the horse to fall out through the shoulders and run sideways and possibly trip and fall over. 10.01.2022 Thank you to Samantha Paget for you lovely email and photo! Ruby is "studying" Steve's book 'Formula for Success' "Hi Steve I am so grateful for your book and videos.... I have learnt so much. As a green rider and with a green horse I was advised by many to sell her and get something already going. Without your books and videos that may have been the best option. At times I thought It was. But I was determined so, slow and steady bit by bit, Reading and re-reading, watching and re-watching after two years we are now starting to mesh and I just love it.
