His choices for afterlife care helped over 80 people and paved the way for the Driven2SaveLives. He has permanently made an impact on dirt track racing. #BCForever #StillChasing200 See more

21.01.2022 Update on the status of the 2020 MHM

17.01.2022 Unfortunately COVID-19 has also claimed Round 5 of the Sprintcar State's Series QLD/NSW: Super Sevens Series, scheduled for Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway on Tue...sday 12 January 2021. Following all relevant government advice and restrictions in this very much evolving situation, including border concerns for all those involved in putting on the show, has left organisers with no option but to cancel the event now in the hopes of keeping all drivers, teams, officials, volunteers, track crew and race fans as safe as possible. It is difficult times and we are all immensely disappointed with the cancellation of any Sprintcar racing, but now we all need to lay low and do what we can to help stop any further outbreak so we can get back trackside as soon as it is deemed safe. Archerfield Speedway is still looking at the possibility of running on Wednesday night, though that will depend on the lockdown situation this weekend. We will update when we know more. Take care everyone, and if you are in any of the Greater Brisbane areas affected by the lockdown, please, stay home, wear a mask if you do have to leave your home, and help us get back to a place where we can return to racing. Look after each other and stay tuned for more updates as they become available. See more

16.01.2022 V8 Triple Treat This Weekend More than 35 Sprintcars will hit the track this Saturday night (November 28) at Archerfield Speedway to contest round three of the ...East Coast Logistics Track Championship and round three of the Petzyo Development Series as part of a triple-bill V8 program featuring Dirt Modifieds and round three of the Shock Absorber Therapy AMCA Nationals Track Championship. Also on the program, which has attracted more than 120 competitors, will be round three of the Done Right Paint Worx Formula 500 Series, along with Compact Speedcars and Open Sedans So far this season at Archerfield, only six different drivers have featured on the podium in Sprintcar feature race competition and, of those, Lachlan McHugh has been the standout performer with three wins from four starts, his only glitch coming in round two of the ECL Track Championship when he crashed out after tangling with another car. Having also accrued two feature race wins in Toowoomba so far this season, plus a runner-up result there last Saturday night, McHugh is very much the favourite heading into this weekend. The only other driver to visit victory lane this season has been Cody Maroske, with victories in both Brisbane and Toowoomba, the latter of which resulted, for the first time this season, in McHugh going the distance without emerging victorious. Callum Walker was sensational in the previous round of racing here two weeks ago, clocking fast time in qualifying and then backing up to finish second in the feature race behind McHugh and ahead of Luke Oldfield, whose third-place result was actually his worst of the season, having somewhat remarkably finished second in every other feature race since the season commenced. Aaron Kelly has also featured on the podium this season and, as the defending track champion, he will be very keen to take the next step and snare a feature race win to bolster his title defence. Meanwhile, Mitchell Gee has finished in the top five at Archerfield on two occasions this season and brings some form into the fight, fresh from a third-place result in Toowoomba. The only other drivers to score a top-five finish across the opening five nights of Sprintcar action are Brent Kratzmann and Randy Morgan, both of whom are also in the field this weekend. Despite a later start to the season, Dirt Modified competitors have obviously felt the impact of recent events harder than others, with just 12 nominations for their first appearance, a field that might be smaller still if not for the efforts of Australian champion Kevin Britten taking on the challenge of competing in both Sprintcars and Dirt Modifieds on the night. Although down in numbers, when a third of the field are national championship winners in the category, we can still expect to see plenty of action as Andrew Pezzutti, David Clark and Mark Robinson, who is fresh from a feature win in Grafton last weekend, look to upstage Britten and the rest of the runners. As has consistently been the case for some time now, AMCA Nationals have gathered a solid field both in quality and quantity for their third round of racing, with Bruce Marshall, Steve Potts and Steve Price all enjoying recent success. Marshall won the opening round here in October and subsequently finished third in the Queensland Championship before collecting another feature win in Grafton last Saturday night, while Price achieved an identical result the previous weekend at Lismore in the wake of a barnstorming run from the rear of the field to the podium in the previous Archerfield track championship round. It was Potts who prevailed over Price in round two and, whilst the battle between these three is expected to produce plenty of highlights, the likes of Nathan Tomkins, Russ Hardy, Michael Denning and Scott Hitchcock are certainly capable of mixing it up at the front of the field. In the absence of both Kristin Brown and Tarhlea Apelt from the field, round three of the Done Right Paint Worx Formula 500 Series will see Libby Ellis singlehandedly taking on the boys, with Liam Williams and James Kennedy expected to continue their rivalry. The last round saw Kennedy in a winning position until he was forced to the infield, handing the lead to Williams, who backed up to defeat Kennedy last weekend in Toowoomba, reversing the result from earlier in the season. Ryan Newton, Brady Argles and Brock Thornton seem the most likely to pounce should the favourites falter, as they did in the first round when some restart nonsense resulted in both Williams and Kennedy missing a place on the podium. A dozen duellists will face-off in round five of the Boss Hogg Steakhouse/SCA Racewear Compact Speedcar Club Championship as former New Zealand Midget champion Michael Kendall chases his third consecutive feature race win. Should Kendall, who has also been a dominant figure in Midget competition at Archerfield, see off the youthful threat posed by Bodie Smith, Harry Stewart, and Connor McCullough, he should find himself well on track for the trifecta. Gates open at 1.00pm for competitors and online ticket holders only, with general admission ticket sales and entry from 3.00pm. Early racing will hit the track from 5.00pm and the main program, which will also feature two divisions of racing in Open Sedans, will get underway from 6.00pm. East Coast Logistics Sprintcar Track Championship round three nominations: Aaron Kelly, Adam Butler, Allan Woods, Andrew Baumber, Andrew Corbet, Anthony Lambert, Brad Ayers, Brendon Claridge, Brent Kratzmann, Brock Dean, Callum Walker, Cody Maroske, Dan Murray, Daniel Cassidy, Darren Jensen, Dave Fanning, Dylan Menz, Kevin Britten, Kevin Titman, Kristy Bonsey, Lachlan Caunt, Lachlan McHugh, Luke Oldfield, Mark Pholi, Mitch Gowland, Mitchell Gee, Nathan McFarlane, Paul Rooks, Randy Morgan, Scott Genrich, Taylor Prosser, Tim Farrell Petzyo Sprintcar Development Series round three nominations: Brant Chandler, Erin Vanderreyden, Jason King, Jeremy Gaudry, John White, Libby Ellis, Nicholas O’Keefe, Zack Howell Dirt Modified nominations: Andrew Firth, Andrtew Pezzutti, Chris Corbett, Darren Tindal, David Clark, Geoff Phillips, Kevin Britten, Marcus McKenzie, Mark Robinson, Marley Weller, Phil Roberts, Zac McDonald Done Right Paint Worx Formula 500 Series round three nominations: Adrian Farrell, Brady Argles, Brock Thornton, Dekota Gay, James Kennedy, Liam Williams, Libby Ellis, Mitchell Whittaker, Ryan Newton, Royce Harvey, Tony Bailey Shock Absorber Therapy AMCA Nationals Track Championship round three nominations: Ben Anderson, Brett Robotham, Bruce Marshall, Dylan Stacey, Graeme Holland, Heath Parker, Jay Allen, Mark Taylor, Matt Ingrey, Michael Denning, Nathan Tomkins, Raymond Kime, Robert Kynaston, Russ Hardy, Scott Hitchcock, Shane Stacey, Stephen Ward, Steve Potts, Steve Price, Troy Price Boss Hogg Steakhouse/SCA Racewear Compact Speedcar Club Championship round five nominations: Andrew Parkes, Andrew Rooke, Bodie Smith, Connor McCullough, Dave Collins, Dave Swan, Harry Stewart, Joseph Penkeyman, Michael Kendall, Mick Hunter, Mitchell Rooke, Richard Treanor Open Sedan A nominations: Ben Robertson, Colin Morris, Gary Kivella, Justin Randall, Keith Craft, Les Eisenmenger, Robin Bains Open Sedan B nominations: Aaron Wells, Ben Harris, Brad Hill, Chris Wilson, Dylan Craft, Elgan Dalton, Haiden Grantz, Jamie Love, Joel Gilson, Ricky Price, Steve Blackburn, Travis Maher For further information and event updates, please stay tuned to Facebook or the track website at www.brisbanespeedway.com.au

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT STEP FORWARD FOR NEW SYDNEY SPEEDWAY Today the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the new Sydney International Speedway at Eastern Creek was sub...mitted to the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, marking an important step in the project’s progress. Subject to planning approvals, construction of the speedway is planned to start later this year and is expected to be completed by the start of the speedway racing season in 2021/22. The proposed venue comprises a 460m clay track with a 345m motorcycle speedway circuit on the infield. The outer track replicates the existing size and shape at Parramatta (incorporating the latest safety features), while the latter is built to international specifications and is capable of hosting everything from Speedway GP down to grassroots motorcycle speedway, karting and vintage classes. A virtual information room displaying key aspects of the project, the EIS documents, video featuring information from industry specialists and a full 360 degree view of the proposed speedway is now available to view at sydneymetro.info/speedwayvirtual Submissions on the EIS can be made directly to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment by Wednesday 16 September 2020. Speedway Australia Chairman Guy Thompson was enthusiastic. We get to see the proposed plans at the same time as everyone else but are confident that this will be a world class facility. We appreciate the fact that Sydney Metro have liaised with us to ensure the venue is built to Speedway Australia’s five star safety rating. In terms of the final design this is a massive opportunity that the New South Wales government has given us as a sport and we should utilise the fact that they are fast tracking the planning process to help make the venue as good as it can be. It’s important that anyone with constructive feedback gets in touch with the government via the appropriate channels by the September 16 deadline. Sprintcar Control Council of Australia President Kathy Kelly was also buoyant. While it’s sad to lose the history and atmosphere of the current venue, it’s great that Sprintcar racing in New South Wales will soon have a modern new home. Sydney set the standard for Sprintcar racing in Australia when the current venue was built, and will do so again at Eastern Creek from next year. This is an exciting new era for our sport! Motorcycling NSW Ltd also said "we are enthusiastic to see the proposed plans and are certain this will be a world class facility that can be utilised by our clubs and members in the future. It is promising to see the investment the NSW Government plans to make over the next few years to ensure Motorsports continue to grow within the urban environment". More information about the Sydney International Speedway project can be found on the Sydney Metro website. If you have any difficulties accessing information or would like to speak to a member of the project team, please contact Sydney Metro West via email at: [email protected] or by calling 1800 612 173.

10.01.2022 JOINT MEDIA RELEASE: Whilst uncertainties around interstate travel left series organizers with no option but to cancel the 2020/2021 World Series Sprintcar Cham...pionship, the recent easing of restrictions with more expected in the days ahead has enabled Speedway Australia to join forces with track operators in Queensland and New South Wales to present the Sprintcar State's Series - QLD/NSW: Super Sevens to be staged across four venues over 14 days. The tournament will kick off at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway on Saturday, January 2, with Archerfield Speedway to host round two just 24 hours later on January 3. Teams will head north to Maryborough Speedway for round three for a Tuesday night show on January 5 and then return to Archerfield for a two-night fixture on January 8 and 9. A trip across the border to Lismore Speedway in northern New South Wales for round five on Tuesday, January 12 will be followed by the series finale back in Toowoomba on January 16. The series has been developed as a substitute for the traditional World Series events that would ordinarily be scheduled for the region at this time of the season and there will be two similar tournaments staged in Western Australia and South Australia/Victoria, the details of which will be announced soon. With the exception of round four at Archerfield which will carry a $10 000 first prize, all rounds will pay $5000 to the winner of the feature race, with Speedway Australia General Manager confirming a $20 000 series points fund. In the absence of World Series Sprintcars this summer, we urge everyone to make the best of the situation by getting involved in these regional initiatives over the holiday period. We’re delighted to be able to support teams and tracks by sponsoring a points fund for these Sprintcar events. Whilst World of Outlaws star Donny Schatz will be unable to take part in the series due to ongoing restrictions on international travel, it is expected that the lack of racing so far this season in southern states will ensure an influx of competitors desperate to get their season underway. More information about the series and individual events will be released soon. 2021 Sprintcar State's Series QLD/NSW: Super Sevens Schedule January 2 Toowoomba January 3 Archerfield January 5 Maryborough January 8/9 Archerfield January 12 Lismore* January 16 - Toowoomba * Lismore is subject to crowd restrictions being lifted by NSW Health

02.01.2022 WORLD SERIES SPRINTCARS CANCELLED COVID-19’s latest casualty is World Series Sprintcars, with the 2020/21 series cancelled due to the ongoing uncertainty affect...ing the entire country. With no timeframe in place for the opening of the West Australian border, Victoria’s timelines for staging public events in December being uncertain, and Queensland reviewing their border position in December, it’s impossible for organisers, teams and suppliers to be able to plan and commit to a national tour such as World Series Sprintcars. We’d particularly like to thank the teams and tracks that had committed to running the 2020/21 series, especially the two new venues who were coming on board in Whyalla Speedway Club Inc. and Geraldton City Speedway. They’ll do a great job of hosting World Series Sprintcars when they eventually get the chance. We know that tracks, teams and fans are hoping for some good news, and we hope to be back with a vengeance in 2021/22. In the meantime, when regions and states begin to open back up we urge all competitors and fans to get behind their local tracks and enjoy regional racing when the opportunity arises. Planning for the 2021/22 series will commence in November, by which time there will hopefully be some light at the end of the tunnel.
