15.01.2022 Sunrise in Civic Park - 5:40am Sunday - I really don’t know was it my indulgence Chinese cuisine, work stress, life’s stresses, the fact my air conditioning is broke or the full moon but at 2am I woke in a lather of sweat and anxiousness. Not something a cool calm and collected dude should mention in public but hey its life and life’s life, your body can reflect subconsciously issues you bury and as blokes we have a habit of burying things deep so deep its not until the combo... of lots of really good Chinese, a hot night and a full moon that they bubble to the surface. So despite talking things through with Millie (the cat), despite reading some article on an Australian tracking a Rwandan genocidaire, despite laying out under the stars (and the full moon) on the back deck (mozzies even 4 floors up), despite breathing exercises and relaxation techniques I’m wandering ever so listlessly towards the now breaking dawn and the pool. This oasis of relaxing cool pleasure. The nor’easter that’s been with me the whole way has dropped as I reach Tramway Reserve and over vast vista of the Pacific you have a brightening sunrise and little low balls of fluffy clouds that scoot past over an increasingly choppy water a southerly is just hitting its 21c feeling like 24c. At least the room will be cooler tonight. 12.01.2022 5:15am Monday the shadows of anonymity are lost at this late hour the tranquility of silence lost in a cummerbund of noise that tucks the sound in not letting it escape the echoing walls of buildings that tightly line the footpath. This is what it means to be late but the sleep was worth it every Devine moment of slumber worth the price but I find myself hightailing it for the need to be somewhere else - work! The Pacific is still a steely grey as the breeze slides in from the sou’east and the grey cotton ball clouds drift from the nor’west. It’s 21c.
