23.01.2022 Thank you very much Seven Local News Cairns for picking up this story and helping to spread the message of being careful with your personal details. And remember, if you are or have been approached by these people and you have concerns, the best thing to do is report it to the appropriate authorities https://www.moneysmart.gov.au/scams/report-a-scam

21.01.2022 It's great to see work progressing on the redevelopment of Tobruk Pool, however I'm not sure about this artwork installation. What do you think?

20.01.2022 Hopefully this is the end of the Myer store closures and ours in Cairns will remain open.

18.01.2022 I'll admit, I'm a huge fan of Frozen so I'll be going along to watch this (with my daughter of course). I think it's great that Council puts on these free movie nights for families.

18.01.2022 Centenary Lakes is such a wonderful natural asset of Edge Hill & Division 7 and last night's downpour gave it a much needed top up. It was great to go for a walk through the lakes this morning and see all of the wildlife out enjoying the rejuvenation that rain brings.

13.01.2022 Important notice for those in the Manoora / Edge Hill area. Stay safe

11.01.2022 Happy democracy day Queensland, vote responsibly.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to the Queensland Firebirds on winning today's Netball Grand Final!

09.01.2022 Beware: Possible door to door scam in Edge Hill. This afternoon I received a knock at my door from a young man offering to help me get over $10,000 of my tax back simply by filling in a form with my personal details and paying a small fee. When I quizzed him on the details I discovered:... A. He did not know what the ATO (Australian Tax Office) was B. He was not a representative of a company which has an AFSL (Australian Financial Services License) C. He was not willing to provide the name or phone number of his employer If anyone else is approached with this offer I would advise against providing any personal details. For help with tax, see your accountant or financial advisor.

08.01.2022 How do you think the current Council has performed? And would you vote for a Labor backed candidate to represent you in 2016?

08.01.2022 I'm so excited to see this project going ahead! Plenty of new jobs for locals and a great new attraction for families and tourists.

06.01.2022 A growing population for Cairns is inevitable, more and more people are choosing to live here and within a few decades we look set to become the largest city in Northern Australia, with a population larger than what Canberra and Newcastle have right now. With this rapid growth comes many challenges, including water & energy security, environment & heritage protection, community services and an effective public transport system. On public transport, I believe that a bus networ...k alone will not be sufficient to meet our needs in the future and that we must begin planning a light rail / tram system which connects high density population and employment hubs. If we begin this planning now, land for routes can be set aside before it is developed, making future changes harder and more expensive. This is just my idea though, and I'm interested to hear what you think the future of public transport in Cairns should look like. Please leave a comment below, or email me on [email protected] with your ideas.

05.01.2022 A soft glow over Edge Hill just now, what a beautiful place to live

04.01.2022 Great to see some residential construction happening in Edge Hill. Although modern, the developers design fits with the character of this neighborhood.

04.01.2022 It was great to be at the official opening of the SES Cairns Headquarters today. This partnership between Council and State Government finally gives SES volunteers the facilities they deserve and need to continue doing their great work.

02.01.2022 It was great to see a new small business opening it's doors last week, offering an innovative service for expectant mothers which I understand is the first of it's kind in Cairns. Why not head over to their page and give them a 'like' to show your support for small business.

02.01.2022 This is excellent news, replacing the existing Civic Theatre was always the best and most cost effective option. A redevelopment of Munro Martin Park is also welcome. Do you welcome this announcement?

01.01.2022 Are you disappointed that the dredging of Trinity Inlet will not be going ahead? What infrastructure project does Cairns need that the Government could spend this money on instead?
