17.01.2022 Most of my art is my work on River Gum, these paintings are done what is called the sap wood of the trees. Really the Sap wood is the living part of the tree. When these trees catch fire it is the centre that catches fire because really it is the dead part of the tree and outer edge is where the life is. The centres of the trees burn out but the wet section does not burn as easy. most of the time the sap wood gets almost cooked and becomes very hard and it dries out and dies. It is this I get and paint on. These pieces are full of character they have natural lumps and creases in then that help me create the features in the painting. I think I am the only artist doing this sort of work and have been doing them for over 25years and they have gone all over the world

09.01.2022 Doing art lesson with my grand children daughter and some friends. It is amazing how much they learnt in an a 2hour session. It was great fun. I think I will do it more often
