This creates some winners and losers as a result of the changes. Loser - Savers and Retirees Those with cash saved up in an interest-bearing account will be receiving an even lower return on their money.... Loser - Overseas Traveller Those that are planning to travel overseas are likely to get less for their Australian Dollars (AUD). Economists predicted that the rate cut might cause AUD to drop lower compared to other major currencies. Winner - Share market investors The dividend that you can get from the listed company looks much more attractive that interest rates offered by banks for savings and terms deposits. Winner - Variable rate mortgage holders Those that hold a mortgage with variable rate are likely to receive part of the rate cut that are passed on by their banks.
