23.01.2022 Another DSDBI underground power job underway in Donnybrook this week. Here were hammering through solid rock to the surface with a 13Ton excavator - to clean dirt for the rest of the trench with a 240 Ditchwitch. Sometimes theres no telling what youll encounter until you sink an excavator bucket in the dirt.... or in this case ROCK!

20.01.2022 Nice cloudy start to the day but now the sun's out there's no escape... Feeling like it's 37 degrees already! Today we power up another underground power job for an old dairy with Group Metering in Nar Nar Goon.
19.01.2022 Directional drilling new underground power - Borang Ave Mt Evelyn Thankyou Steve for all of your help and support during our recent power loss. It was a very difficult and overwhelming time for us, and not knowing who to turn to for help, made our situation even more stressful. We were also trying to deal with the loss of our Internet and Home phone, so we felt even more isolated. You were able to get our Power organised, it had to go under ground due to the new Fire Regulati...ons in our area. You also arranged to have our Internet restored as well. Both of these situations were causing us a huge amount of worry, but you took that stress off our shoulders and we were able to leave everything in your capable hands. 18.01.2022 New underground power for an original Narre Warren homestead with a beautiful historic barn. Their private pole had only 10mm sound wood left and this lovely family were faced with fix it within 7 days or we turn your power off. We installed Ausnet approved struts on the pole to make it safe while we organised a Truck Appointment to put it underground. Yesterday we completed the works and our customers were very pleased with how neat the property came up. Especially to se...e both private poles gone along with all the overhead power and phone lines... or possum highways as they called them! We installed a remote Meterbox and Main Switchboard in the front garden and made use of some spare jarrah floorboards we found behind the old shed to finish it off. Really happy with how it came up. 18.01.2022 This private pole in Narre Warren has never been tested and wasnt on Ausnet database. A quick test found only 10mm of sound wood left... power would be turned off in 7 days leaving a family in the dark. Steve Taylor Electrical Services installed installed temporary pole props to make it safe until we install underground power in a few weeks. Power stayed on yesterday much to the delight of our customers.

17.01.2022 Rock drilling today in Donvale for new underground power. Our customer's private overhead electric line was damaged by a tree before Christmas so they've been on a generator since. It'll be nice to get them back onto mains supply tomorrow morning.

Youve managed a few days already with no power after a storm hit your town and then finally the street lights come on at 10pm - only to be told by Ausnet that you still have no power because your private pole had been damaged and cant be repaired! Youre the only family in the street still in the dark. You have no idea who to call or when youll have power again for your medical equipment, fridge, lights and heating.... One Mt Evelyn couple faced this experience last week. Fortunately their neighbours looked after them with a lead over the fence and battery powered lights for the night. Ausnet pointed them in our direction to have their pole looked at the next day and within 24 hours we installed a generator to their switchboard. Private poles in a High Bushfire Area cannot be replaced so your power must be installed underground if the reconstruction is more than 20%. This job required directional drilling to the house under their concrete and bitumen driveway. In one week power was restored and their home insurance covered the entire cost! If you have private poles or a private overhead electric line (POEL) on your property, always get the right advice from a POEL specialist electrician. 15.01.2022 Last month we were called on to supply and construct an authentic looking powerline for the latest Bonds commercial filmed in Collingwood. We installed a 6m pole, crossarm and old copper wires for the set. The actor also used our pole harness and powerline tools and we trained him so he'd be able to climb the pole and secure himself safely. Featuring 39 seconds in, he did a great job and looked the part. Steve Taylor Electrical is proud to be doing our part for GloBall Warming!

From a bare wire construction to an insulated private line making it bushfire safe... the first overhead construction completed in Victoria out of almost 200 government grants for underground power for the PRF program. Insurance will cover repairs after storm damage to your private lines and if you're in a high bushfire zone they are also liable to then pay for UG power within 60 days! Many are not aware of this so be sure to call us to get the right advice and the right job the first time!

07.01.2022 This week we received a call from a Mt Evelyn customer with a private pole. A large tree had fallen across it and bent the pole below ground. Their power was disconnected by Ausnet and they were preparing for several cold nights without power. At the time we were on another job upgrading supply to underground power and group metering in Wandin so nothing much could happen that day. We made one phone call. A new FREE emergency electrical pit was booked to be installed THE NEX...T DAY! I cleared my schedule and worked in with the Healesville Directional Drilling contractors who were installing the pit. We had their power restored underground within 24 hours. Needless to say our customer was very pleased with the fast professional service when they were preparing for days off supply. See more
06.01.2022 Following our storms last week we have a few customers with damaged private overhead lines who are off supply and poweted by a generator since then. Today we've finalised preparations for a 50 year long-standing resident of Warrandyte South to go back on supply with new underground power that we directional drilled from a new emergency pit, relocated new meterbox and main switchboard and all works completely covered by their insurance. Thanks to Sean Pinder (Pinder Electric...al) for your support sub-contracting to us for the works, HDD Directional Drilling for an amazing professional job on the bore and pit and Rod from EGH (Eastern Generator Hire) for your fast response to provide back up generator supply to our customer. 04.01.2022 Such abeautiful day to plough in 270m of underground power! Other than a muddy patch in the middle where we excavated to join our bore pipe, the plough path is barely visible. Installed in 7hrs!

02.01.2022 This customer in Kallista has been living in an air b&b for 3 weeks after their private electric line to their house was taken down by a tree. Unable to be restored in a High Fire area, underground is the only solution. We got the call a week ago and found it was solid rock from the new pit to the house. We blocked the road, threw this beast at it and drilled all day and finally made it to the carport. We'll have them moving back home next Tuesday. ... Any job, anywhere! Love a challenge! See more
