THANK YOU to all those people who have supported SWA this year by instructing us, referring us & endorsing us to their networks & colleagues. The team at SWA never underestimates the importance of our supporters to our ongoing success.... 2019 has been a year of growth and continual improvement in compliance and service delivery. 2020 is our 20th year (where did that go?) is already shaping up to start with a bang We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous, Healthy New Year. See you in the year 2020!

22.01.2022 Whilst we hope Ms Caddick hasn't meet with foul play, it would appear at face value a well orchestrated disappearance . Maybe? What do you think? #skiptracing #investigations #missingperson... https://www.smh.com.au//missing-dover-heights-woman-meliss html

13.01.2022 Thieves use clever schemes to defraud thousands of Australians every year. They often combine new technology with old tricks to get people to send money or give out personal information. Here are some practical tips to help you stay a step ahead. 1. Do online searches. Type a company or product name into your favorite search engine with words like review, complaint or scam. Or search for a phrase that describes your situation, like ATO call. You can even search for ph...one numbers to see if other people have reported them as scams. 2. Don’t believe your caller ID. Technology makes it easy for scammers to fake caller ID information, so the name and number you see aren’t always real. If someone calls asking for money or personal information, hang up. If you think the caller might be telling the truth, ask for the number, call back to a number so you know it is genuine. 3. Consider how you pay. Credit cards have significant fraud protection built-in, but some payment methods don't. Transferring funds through services like Western Union or MoneyGram is risky because it’s nearly impossible to get your money back. That’s also true for reloadable cards (like Corporate cards or travel Money) and gift cards (like iTunes or Google Play). Government offices and honest companies won’t require you to use these payment methods. 4. Talk to someone. Before you give up your money or personal information, talk to someone you trust. Con artists want you to make decisions in a hurry. They might even threaten you. Slow down, check out the story, do an online search, consult an expert like SWA’s team or just tell a friend. 5. Be sceptical about free trial offers. Some companies use free trials to sign you up for products and bill you every month until you cancel. Before you agree to a free trial, research the company and read the cancellation policy. And always review your monthly statements for charges you don’t recognize. 6. Get as much proof as possible: Be sure the produce or item you are buying online exists, Get as much proof as possible. If you still not sure and its as significant transaction get someone to sight the item and confirm the details. 7. Creating Peace of Mind: At SWA we can have a qualified field agent who can attend an address within Australia to confirm the validity, details, and location of your purchase. Our team makes every effort to give you peace of mind that it truly exists and the identity of the person you are dealing with If your worried that you have been scammed or think the person is not who they say they are, call us for a FREE 30 min consultation 1300 557 864 Other important tips can be found at: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/ge/protect-yourself-from-scams

13.01.2022 Skip Tracing - How to Locate Beneficiaries When it comes to skip tracing most people attribute this service to locating debtors or witnesses. However, when it comes to the location of beneficiaries of wills and estates it takes on a different focus and set of skills. One of the most significant and sometimes onerous duties of an estate trustee is to ascertain and locate all beneficiaries who may have an interest in the estate....Continue reading

09.01.2022 Last Monday SWA Group CEO Steve Wallis was interviewed on Rebecca Levingston’s ABC Brisbane’s Morning Show to talk about how people disappear in Australia. Steve started off in the green room, which ironically is red, and sat with Jonathon Sri, Brisbane’s only Greens councillor, a nice guy who shares his love of boats. They both agreed people should take a leaf out of the way boaties can live off the grid with power, water and waste. Just goes to show we all have common grou...nd. Then to top it off, Australian music legend Paul Kelly walked in and had a quick chat. He said Steve had a very interesting job. That's before he was whisked away by minders, PR people and station staff. And dammit, Steve missed out on grabbing a selfie! Paul was promoting his new book on poetry, and he thought Steve had an interesting job! Anyway, the interview covered many factors involved in the tracking down of missing persons, and Steve shared some of the SWA success stories along the way. Hope you enjoy the interview. 04.01.2022 Over the past weeks, we have noticed an increase in people doing their own divorces. We are not sure if it is a result of the current Covid 19 isolation policy or if it’s just that people are at home with more time on their hand. We wish to point out, we are not lawyers and normally advise people to at least talk to a lawyer before they start preceding. Normally due to the cost factor they choose to go it alone. In many cases, these people have never dealt with the court syst...em before, let alone the Family Court. As a result, we are often asked to serve documents that have not been filed, are incomplete, or are simply the wrong documents, to begin with. As previously stated, while we are not solicitors, and cannot give any legal advice, we do try to assist them with the process. To answer this growing need, SWA has now produced a FREE step-by-step brochure - ’How To Serve Your Family Law Documents’ - that assists people on how to access the court system, create and file their documents, and instruct the process server. It also provides information on what you can expect in terms of turnaround time, costs, and contact from our office. So if you need your family law documents served correctly, and would like a free copy of the brochure, then please email us at [email protected] Or call us on 1300 557 864 Let’s take at least some of the stress out of the process!
