25.01.2022 There were 10 recipients this year in our Diamond Award category the highest award honour in our 2019 Donor Recognition Program for schools who raise funds to support Stewart House. Among those is Russell Lea Public School. Their entry to our Virtual Appreciation Ceremony reads like a chronicle of the historical ties that bind us. We share a deep-rooted history and their support has been unwavering over many years. We are sincerely thankful to the staff and students of Russell Lea Public School Parents and Citizen's Association for their grand support. See their full entry here: https://www.stewarthouse.org.au//Russell-Lea-PS-EDITED_log

24.01.2022 We are grateful for the support of the wonderful staff, students and families of Allambie Heights Public School. The school Fundraising Captains arranged a unique and thoughtful event where all the children wrote a letter of gratitude in class to take home and share with their families. Each child made a gold coin donation as part of the exercise. All funds raised will support public school children with access to health and well-being support at Stewart House.

21.01.2022 Each year we come together to celebrate the fundraising support from schools, individuals and organisations. This year, we moved our appreciation online to accommodate social distancing requirements and invited our award recipients to be part of a donor recognition feature by telling us ***what Stewart House means to them, their school community or organisation***. We thank Brighton-Le-Sands Public School for their support. This message from the School Captains said it beautifully...

21.01.2022 Our Donation Drive winner for 2020 was the lucky Anvi from Russell Lea Public School. In a remarkable twist, to what has been a challenging year for many, Anvi and her family have chosen to donate the entire prize amount ($4000) back to Stewart House. We are supremely thankful for this marvellous generosity.

20.01.2022 Chatswood Public School was awarded with a Platinum Award for its fundraising efforts as part of the 2019 Stewart House Donor Recognition Program. Student Leaders have commemorated the occasion by creating a fabulous "wordle" to describe what Stewart House means to them. We thank the Chatswood PS community for their outstanding support!

20.01.2022 Key to the longevity of our children's charity is the ongoing support we receive from teachers, who assist in funding the unique Stewart House Program through voluntary salary contributions. We're delighted to share the remarkable story of a former kindy teacher, now donating to Stewart House through her new found passion for styling interiors. https://www.bluemountainsgazette.com.au//from-kindi-teach/

20.01.2022 Welcome All our children from the wider Penrith area are with us now and settling in to a week of fun and pampering.

18.01.2022 Wamberal Public School's recent fundraising day raised a whopping $700 for our charity. This outstanding school community embraced the opportunity to give to children in need. Their donation will support a cohort of public school children access health and wellbeing support at Stewart House. This includes access to excursion venues, counselling support, toiletries and clothing if required.

18.01.2022 Stewart House is situated just out of view in this image, and we are proud of the beautiful landscape that surrounds our property. Students who come to Stewart House get to experience the beauty as part of their stay.

18.01.2022 Parcels wrapped with love and appreciation on their way to our much loved supporters. As were unable to come together at this time to acknowledge all of our wonderful supporters, this year we have created a virtual awards ceremony to celebrate the fundraising achievements in 2019 of schools, individuals and corporations. Letters and parcels were rolled out this week, with award recipients invited to get involved by telling us what Stewart House means to them, their school community or organisation. In return, we look forward to creating a feature of all entries on our website, our Facebook page and in upcoming newsletters.

17.01.2022 On Thursday, 19 November 2020 a group of students and staff from Stewart House joined local Member for Manly, Mr James Griffin, on a Parliamentary tour of NSW Parliament House. Along the way, the group also interacted with Ministers Brad Hazzard and Gareth Ward, and the Members for Orange, Macquarie Fields, Holsworthy and Prospect. 12.01.2022 *Feel-good post* - In the midst of so much disruption to our "normal" lives, it's heart-warming to read about a beautiful tradition in place for students at Colo High School. Year 7 students write to their future selves and get to re-visit their old selves once they reach Year 12. Oh, the things we would say! To all the amazing Year 12 students of 2020 we say fly high little birds - we are cheering for you, for this is a year that history will never forget!

04.01.2022 Today is #PrincipalsDay2020. We would like to acknowledge the essential role public school principals in NSW play in ensuring that children are appropriately placed into the Stewart House Program. Principals act in a voluntary capacity as Area Coordinators at the local level to arrange the nominations, transportation and supervision of children to-and-from Stewart House . Their actions ensure that student participation in our program is at no cost to parents or carers. We... are sincerely thankful for their support and dedication to the Stewart House Program. 04.01.2022 Happy #WorldTeachersDay2020 We're fortunate to have some amazing teachers working at our Stewart House School. Today and always, we celebrate their contribution to caring for children.

03.01.2022 Music teacher Ms Sarah Donnelley has our vote in the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award! Will you help us show our appreciation to our teachers in remote areas by voting for her too, please? Here's Why: Each year we have the great pleasure of caring for around 85 students, drawn from 68 public schools, from a remote area of NSW which covers a staggering 44% of the landmass of NSW. An 11-hours drive to the north-west of NSW is Wilcannia Central School. It's in an area so hot ...that towns are built underground to escape the Outback heat, like in the nearby historic opal mining town of White Cliffs. Just as remarkable is the financial support teachers in the area offer voluntarily to the Stewart House Program through the NSW Department of Education. We are furthermore voting for our unsung heroes who are committed to improving the lives of their students by making regular donations. #NSWTeachers #StewartHouseSalaryContributionScheme

01.01.2022 Chalmers Road School's submission, as part of our virtual Ceremony of Appreciation for school fundraising, is a beautiful and collaborative art piece made up of a series of hand prints in the shape and colour of the sun. It reads: "The sun represents our shared vision of hope and opportunity. Friendship and support help unite us as a community. Our hands come together - We Care. We Learn. We are Safe!" This delightful entry offers great insight into some of the core values that form part of the Stewart House Program. We thank the staff and students for their entry and support!

01.01.2022 We were pleased to host a site tour of Stewart House for NSW MPs earlier this week. Among the group was Member for Orange, Philip Donato and his colleague Mark Banasiak. Each year, on average, 32 children across 37 public schools in the regional Electorate of Orange visit our facility for a 12-day stay. NSW Department of Education staff from around Orange make regular donations from their salary in support of the Stewart House Program.... We celebrate their commitment and are sincerely grateful for the financial contribution they make in supporting children-in-need. Our sincerest thanks go out to the staff and students at Mulbring PS for their fundraising support!
