25.01.2022 In Maths lessons, 3/4B have been learning to read and construct column and picture graphs. In their favourite lesson, they used M & Ms and Smarties as their data and plotted this data onto both types of graphs. It was definitely a tasty Maths lesson!

25.01.2022 Over the last two weeks, Year 1 have been learning all about 2D shapes and 3D objects. They have been exploring the features of different shapes and learning to identify the faces, corners and edges of 3D objects. 19.01.2022 Year six students and parents once again catered for the annual CWL Christmas breakup. Although students couldn't serve the delicious food due to COVID restrictions, they made each guest a Christmas bauble with a special message. Our School Captains addressed the ladies and handed out the sweets. The ladies were also entertained by video clips of class choirs singing Christmas carols. It was a lovely morning for the ladies! Thank you everyone!

18.01.2022 This term the Year 6 students were fortunate enough to participate in a First Aid programme conducted by Lisa and John Furnell. There was a theoretical and a practical component of bandaging and CPR. Students learnt life saving and general first aid skills which will stay with them forever!

18.01.2022 Australian poet and author, Steven Herrick visited St Francis last week and talked to students in years 3 to 6 about his books and being an author. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us, Steven Herrick!

16.01.2022 A huge thank you to Mr Mottin and Mrs Oliveri from Ergon Energy for visiting us in Electricity Safety Week and talking to us all about electrical safety. We all learnt a lot about staying safe when around or using electricity and some lucky students even got to be temporary Ergon workers.

12.01.2022 This term our year 3/4 classes have been building either a monster or a lift involving a pneumatic system. As this system and hydraulic systems are used frequently in our society it was a way of having students think about how they could use the systems. Some students created monsters which could open and close their mouths, while the rest made a lift. A few students even managed to build items that used two pneumatic systems. The construction side of the project enabled students to solve problems and come up with different ways of doing things. All groups were able to build a monster or other pneumatic item. We definitely have a creative generation coming through to solve the problems of the world!

08.01.2022 In Year 2, the students have been learning all about water and how it is used in our homes and school. In taking the next step, we recently had some guest speakers come in to teach the students about how water is used in the community. Each speaker had some fantastic insight to how they interact with water on a daily basis and the students learnt so much from them! We would like to thank them for spending time with us.

06.01.2022 In Religion this term, 5A has been learning about communal and personal prayer and how prayer can strengthen the community of believers. Students read many of the Psalms in the Old Testament and identified the writer's relationship with God. They then wrote their own Psalms of Praise and Thanksgiving.
