25.01.2022 Today was R U OK? Day - a day about checking in on those around you. Staff began the day with prayer, breakfast and a chat with each other. Students were looking great in their Mufti yellow, and received some special yellow treats to top off their day! A well needed boost for our students who have been amazing in dealing with the many changes this year. A great reminder to look out for each other!

24.01.2022 What's happening in Kindergarten! This term Kindergarten is learning about "Living Things" and how weather can affect living things from growing or producing. In our learning space, we have a farm, living things, tractors, a paddock full of farm animals, a farm cafe, kitchen and shop, a drought area, and even a billabong! The students are really enjoying these play-based learning experiences and love having time to explore and learn in these spaces.

19.01.2022 On the memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, Jesus' 'grandparents', Pope Francis invited children and young people to perform a gesture of tenderness towards the... elderly, especially the loneliest, in their homes and residences, those who have not seen their loved ones for many months "Dear young people, each one of these elderly people is your grandparent! Do not leave them by themselves. Use the inventiveness of love, make telephone calls, video calls, send messages, listen to them and, where possible, in compliance with the healthcare rules, go to visit them too. Send them a hug. They are your roots. An uprooted tree cannot grow, it does not blossom or bear fruit. This is why the bond and connection with your roots is important. 'The blossom of a tree comes from what it has underground', says a poet from my homeland. Therefore I invite you to give a big round of applause for our grandparents, everyone!" 12.01.2022 Never see a need without doing something about it. One of the most used, motivating and known sayings of Australia's first saint, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Today we celebrate her feast day. Yesterday our students celebrated Mary MacKillop’s feast day. Each class celebrated a liturgy and took part in activities reflecting on the life of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, pray for us.

09.01.2022 What a wonderful day today at St Francis of Assisi. Our K-5 students were treated to a brilliant performance called 'Circus of Life'. The students and staff alike were enthralled by the juggling and other circus tricks. The powerful messages about resilience, self esteem, confidence and relationships were delivered to students through an engaging performance. We were also able to hold our first whole school assembly (in 241 days!) and students were presented with Principal and Value awards.

09.01.2022 Making kites in Year 3! We have been supporting the students' oral language development while learning about the technical language of a kite! 08.01.2022 Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a paper plane! You may have noticed our Year 3 and 4 students sketching, folding and testing their paper planes. These students are vying for a chance to enter the World’s Biggest Paper Plane Competition for Schools. As part of their Science and Technology and STEM unit, they have been busy researching and testing their paper planes to see if they can travel over a specific time or distance enabling them to qualify for this competi...tion. The research itself has started with looking at aerodynamics and then practically experimenting with all the aspects of aerodynamics in paper form; such as drag, thrust, etc. Each week students are bringing the aspects of engineering to the science classroom through design, make, test and then modifying their designs to achieve the end goal... Good luck Year 3 and 4! See more

02.01.2022 Today we commemorate the 13th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations. In 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd presented this apology in the Au...stralian Parliament a momentous occasion of recognition and reconciliation in our nation's history. National Apology Day is a day to remember and pray for the children who were taken away from their families and homes, and commit to right the wrongs of past injustices and build a bridge of respect between all people. CEDoW and our Catholic schools are committed to walking together with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sisters and brothers in a spirit of reconciliation. We honour the history of this Great South Land. We remember the stories of those who have gone before us, and seek to ensure the future is one of peace, reconciliation and harmony for all who walk this land. #NationalApologyDay #ApologyDay #Reconciliation
