23.01.2022 Hi all, Some further updates and important information: CONFIRMED TRIAL DATES, TIMES AND VENUES... I can confirm the following Trial dates, times and venues: Cawsey Shield (U12s - Div 1 and Div 2 - Dean O'Neill) Sunday 23 August - 12pm - 2pm Gannons Park Nets Sunday 30 August - 8am - 9.30am - Norm O'Neill Centre, Penshurst Park Gee Shield (U13s - Div 1 and Div 2 - Mario Pengue) Sunday 23 August - 8am - 9.30am - Norm O'Neill Centre, Penshurst Park Sunday 30 August - 2pm - 4pm - Olds Park nets Moore Shield (U14s - Gerard Walz) Sunday 23 August @ 2pm-4pm - Gannons Park Nets Sunday 30 August @ 5pm-7pm - Norm O'Neill Centre, Penshurst Park Further info will be provided regarding Watson and Weblin Shields in the near future. At this stage, it appears unlikely that those trials will start this weekend. NOMINATION FOR REP TRIALS Players must complete the form accessed at the link below if they intend to trial for any of our rep teams. It must be completed so that Rep Coaches will know who will be attending the trials. This is an important part of the COVIDSafe plan, and players will not be able to trial if they have not completed this form. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx A list of all those who have completed the form in the relevant age groups will be sent to the Coach prior to the trial starting. COVIDSafe PLANS, PROCEDURES, GUIDELINES I have also attached a copy of the Association's COVIDSafe plan for training and playing. Please ensure you adhere to all relevant aspects of the plan. There is also a guideline to indoor activities, for those sessions being held at the Norm O'Neill Centre. Please familiarize yourselves with these and try to accommodate them as much as possible. Obviously the sharing of equipment, including water bottles, is discouraged. As hard as it is, please discuss with your child/ren before the session that they should avoid contact with other players (no high fives, shaking hands, etc), and to refrain from using saliva to polish the ball. Coaches will re-iterate this at the beginning of each session. Hand sanitizer will also be provided. Particularly for those sessions being held at the Norm O'Neill Centre, there is a maximum number of persons that can attend and this includes parents. Parents cannot attend the trials and are asked to drop their children at the centre and to not congregate outside. This is a requirement of the centre itself. We encourage you to make arrangements with your child/ren as to where to meet to be collected at the end of the session, to avoid a large crowd outside the centre at the completion of the session. Outside venues are less critical, but we ask that you avoid congregating in large groups. Finally, there is also attached a list of locations considered to be hotspots for COVID-19. Please review the list and take appropriate steps. I cannot stress enough the importance of not attending if you feel unwell, or are displaying flu-like symptoms. If this is the case, please make contact with the coach, our Rep Co-Ordinator (Morris Iemma) or myself via email to advise that you cannot attend. Provided you have completed the Nomination form above, selectors will still be able to consider you for selection. Similarly, if you have come into contact with anyone with COVID-19 or with any flu-like symptoms over the past 14 days, we also ask that you not attend. Obviously, if you've been to Victoria recently, there's plenty of other things you should be attending to, rather than attending Rep trials. As always, these are unprecedented times. the association appreciates your co-operation in helping to ensure this runs as smoothly as possible. Regards, Nick Aley StGDCA Secretary|

10.01.2022 The greater participation of an average 24 players up to 32 continues to create interest in the second year of summer cricket 2019-2020 lead to a final game, barbecue with several known cricket dignitaries attending and raising funds of $600 for the Bush fire appeal. A great response.
