25.01.2022 We are really proud to celebrate one of our very own, Valentina Grbic for recently graduating in her Urban Development degree (majoring in Construction Management) and achieving a High Distinction in her final thesis. Valentina has proven her ability and commitment to the company and teams she has worked alongside, throughout her 2 years at St Hilliers whilst completing her internal cadetship. The St Hilliers Cadetship Program provides the opportunity for our cadets to gain experience in all areas of the business resulting in well-rounded knowledge of the project lifecycle within the construction industry. Valentina has contributed to the success of many awarded tenders through her time in estimating and most recently has been learning the ropes of contract administration within the project delivery side of the business.

25.01.2022 A big thank you to Nexus Money for coming in again to present to some of the St Hilliers team on all things finance! With this visit, focusing on first home buyers and purchasing your first investment property. As one component of our employee wellbeing programme, this financial wellbeing session was a great opportunity for our staff to gain some knowledge on property finances and to meet some of the team at Nexus.

25.01.2022 As part of St Hilliers Dont Walk Past It campaign, monthly Site Safety Encouragement awards are presented to those who are proactively embracing our SEE IT, STOP IT, FIX IT initiative. This month, on the Blackall Hospital Replacement project, we would like to recognise our Industry Partner Ivan Williams, labourer from Atlantic Fire Systems. Ivan has made a concerted effort to keep the entire site spotless and ensures that all waste removal is booked in advance (which is i...mportant on a remote project like the Blackall Hospital Replacement). Ivan always arrives 15 minutes early to ensure he maintains social distance during sign in process and his PPE is always task appropriate and properly fitted. Congratulations Ivan! This is a great example of the type of safety culture and proactive approach that contributes to a safer working environment. See more

24.01.2022 For St Hilliers April Monthly Safety award, the team at Fire School Simulator and Water Recycling Works, RAAF Amberley have been recognised for successfully completing a high volume and extensive network of in ground service installations in a condensed layered operational services site with ZERO service strikes, incidents, near misses, MTIs or LTIs. New inground service installations on existing operational sites are notorious for ongoing challenges and risks for project tea...ms and the user facilities we operate in, with live service strikes not only presenting major safety hazards but potential for critical disruptions to live operational facilities. Construction Manager, Reece Beutel attended site to present the award to the team lead by Project Manager, Shane Emms. A great example of strong process implementation and task appreciation! 24.01.2022 This week, St Hilliers joined Ausco Modular - An Algeco Company, Central West Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health to welcome the Boulia community through their new facility before we go-live. It was great to see Boulia State School students and supervisors enjoying their tour through the building and having fun completing the Queensland Ambulance Basic Life Support activities. The new health facility includes emergency areas, an x-ray room, pharmacy, ambulance bays, consultation rooms, staff accommodation and office areas. The building was designed to reflect the iconic outback Queenslander form of an elevated, above-ground, single-storey building with a pitched roof and wide, shaded verandahs. It was a great opportunity to share the construction journey and completed facility with the Boulia community!

23.01.2022 St Hilliers has recently been awarded the Monaro High School Upgrade for School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW). This is an exciting opportunity to continue our longstanding relationship with SINSW and to deliver the new development and facility upgrades for the local community. A huge thank you to our education delivery teams for their consistent performance and to our Preconstruction team for making this opportunity happen. Awesome work St Hilliers!

23.01.2022 Whilst experiencing the uncertainty of our current situation, St Hilliers has felt a solid certainty from its people and their dedication to the company. Our teams have continued to stay positive throughout this period and have maintained a culture that is looking out for each other whilst managing through this together. As a result of this dedication and culture, were proud to announce the recent award of four Department of Defence projects spread across New South Wales and Victoria. A huge thank you to our pre-construction and delivery teams for your continued hard work in making this happen.

21.01.2022 This months Safety Spotlight is focusing on Access and Egress. Access to, and egress from, the workplace are fundamental aspects to the safe working conditions that should prevail within any workplace. Linking back to Septembers Safety Spotlight: Housekeeping, ensuring clutter is cleared is crucial for routes that provide access and egress. By implementing some of the simple steps within the attached, we can contribute to significantly reducing injuries on site that stem from poor maintenance of access and egress points.

20.01.2022 To acknowledge and celebrate International Womens Day, St Hilliers staff and our Industry Partners nationwide, put on a morning tea to take a moment to appreciate the amazing women contributing everyday to St Hilliers success. The construction industry has been dominated by men over the years, but there is a growing number of women who are changing this trend; and on behalf of St Hilliers and our Industry Partner network, we are very proud to be included in this movement.

19.01.2022 And just like that the roofing material for the Blackall Hospital Replacement project has been installed! This is a really exciting phase for the project as we start to see the hospital structure come together. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our industry partners Australian Framing Solutions and Brillys Brilliant Solutions for their commitment to the project and achieving both the wall framing and roofing milestones! https://www.facebook.com/CentralWestHHS/videos/852000798626675/

19.01.2022 This is a look into a standard morning at St Hilliers with the pre-construction team completing their daily morning catch up. Embracing the new virtual technology, we start with a safety share, general catch up on whats happening in the new world of working from home and straight into the strategy for managing our tender pipeline. St Hilliers are all hands on deck at the moment supporting the influx of opportunities through our long standing clients such as the Department of Defence and School Infrastructure NSW, and keeping connected with our Industry Partners to ensure were supporting each other during this period.

18.01.2022 This months safety focus at St Hilliers is centered on Safe Working at Heights. The attached poster is designed to remind our workforce, including Industry Partners on site of the control requirements for safe work at heights over and above their Safe Work Method Statements. By consulting with St Hilliers, we can all ensure that we consider all required controls prior to undertaking one of the industrys largest contributors to injuries and fatalities. Safework Australia Con...struction industry data analysis indicates: Between 2008 - 2013: > There were 7,800 serious claim injuries attributable to falls from heights; contributing to 28% of total claims for that period; and > Falls from heights accounted for 12% of work-related workers compensation claims in the construction industry. Between 2003 - 2013: > 30% of fall injuries were caused by ladders; and > 58% of fatalities as a result of falls from heights were from roofs and ladders; half of these involved falls of less than 4 metres. By understanding our obligations, implementing effective controls considering not just the work activity, but additional requirements such as safe and compliant design, we can work together to reduce these rates. 15.01.2022 With this week marking #MensHealthWeek for 2020, we saw this as an important opportunity to provoke thought and discussion about improving mens health. To do this, over the last week we started the conversation with our St Hilliers leaders and teams around what they do to look after their health and wellbeing, common mens health concerns and mental health. We received a really incredible response with so many great messages. Physical and mental health dont discriminate against gender; we are all in this together. So just as we encourage our women to be strong and empowered, we need to show our support and care for the men in our lives. If you are struggling, please reach out. You are not in this alone.

14.01.2022 We are very proud to announce the successful completion of the $24m extension of the Navy Training Systems Centre at Randwick Barracks by St Hilliers, in time for the first Navy training course which commenced in January. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Project Manager Bill Pope and the Defence delivery team at Randwick Barracks for their hard work in ensuring this project was delivered safely, on time and for their efforts in local industry participation with 84% of the available subcontract trade packages awarded to local businesses. Really awesome effort!

13.01.2022 As we commence the first day of National Reconciliation Week, we would like to acknowledge our role when it comes to reconciliation. As St Hilliers have the fortunate opportunity to work on sites all around the country, we want to continue to build on our community connections, as well as our connection to each other. We want to maintain creating long-term positive impacts by building relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. This years theme, #InThisTogether, rings true in more ways than one. We need to stick together, to build a better future.

12.01.2022 St Hilliers have been working hard over the last 6 months, developing a strategy within the business designed to best capture our strengths and to bring focus and direction to our future. This has provided the opportunity for St Hilliers to really define our core business functions; Contracting, Defence and Property. With that being said, we are really excited to share with you our new website (www.sthilliers.com.au) and the evolution of the St Hilliers story and where we are today.

12.01.2022 One of St Hilliers very own, Project Manager, Leighton Stock and his infamous moustache, has put it out there that hes willing to shave off his most prized possession if we can reach a target of $10,000 for the month formerly known as Movember Australia to contribute towards mens health. Through this courageous act, we have the opportunity to come together and support our fathers, brothers, sons, friends, boyfriends and husbands through mental health. 11.01.2022 It was an exciting day for some of our QLD Cadets, Lachlan Derlagen and Tim Kamensky and Bid Coordinator, Angela Holt last Friday as they toured around the RAAF Amberley Base with Cadet leader, George Jeffreys as part of our cadetship programme. Visting the Amberley Working Dogs project where they were taken through and shown some of the upgrades to the facility and were lucky enough to interact with some of the puppies, prior to them starting their training. Followed by a visit to our current ETC1 DFI Works project and the recently completed EOLRP Work Package 1 project. A great morning was had by all with another successful cadetship tour to some of our projects.

10.01.2022 Congratulations again to our pre-construction team for their efforts in securing another Defence project at HMAS Stirling. This is an exciting start for our Defence delivery teams and and is paving the way for a positive looking year ahead.

08.01.2022 On Friday 28 August, St Hilliers took part in their second Legacy Brisbane Backyard Assist Program for 2020 at the home of 70-year-old Defence Widow Yvonne, who has been living independently since 2007. Team members from St Hilliers, Legacy and the Australian Defence Force rolled up their sleeves for the day to lend a helping hand and provide some much-needed TLC for her overgrown yard. After a solid 7 hours of hard work, we are pleased to say that Yvonnes yard has been tran...sformed and is now back to a standard she can manage. Since 2015, the program has grown from a biannual small team building activity, to over 16 Backyard Assists throughout the year across South East Queensland and focussing on providing safe, accessible and easily maintained yards for Legacy families, especially elderly and isolated dependants who dont have access to support. We are proud to partner with Legacy and look forward to supporting more initiatives like this into the future.

07.01.2022 St Hilliers recently took part in the Legacy Backyard Assist program, which focuses on providing a safe, accessible and easily maintained yard for Legacy families. We had members of our Senior Management, Site and Office teams work alongside the Australian Defence Force and Legacy team in completely overhauling Legacy family members, Denise and Esmays homes to provide a safe and more accessible environment. The backyard assist comprised 18 people spread across the two prop...erties for almost the entire day, restoring the front and backyards and everywhere in between and importantly, the opportunity to spend some time with both Denise and Esmay. Safe to say we were all pretty exhausted by the end of the day, however feeling quite impacted by the difference we were able to make for both of these families. Thank you to Legacy Brisbane for allowing us to be part of the incredible work you do! See more

03.01.2022 Working with our Industry Partners, this month St Hilliers Safety Focus is reinforcing adequate controls while working around essential services. We can significantly reduce the risk of inadvertent contact through the implementation of effective and compliant control measures such as: >Understanding the required exclusion zones and controls for working near essential services - as defined by asset owners >Implementing hard control exclusions for mechanical excavation around k...nown services >Ensuring Look up and Live practices are reinforced prior to moving or installing plant and equipment (such as scaffold) >Regular and productive consultation and coordination with all Stakeholders (asset owners, staff and Industry Partner groups) See more

03.01.2022 On behalf of St Hilliers, we would like to wish happy birthday to our employees celebrating another lap around the sun in the month of February! Happy birthday to Zane Palmer, Asiri Joseph, Dan Turnbull, Steve Williamson and Mitch Simpson!

02.01.2022 Earlier this year we achieved a key milestone of completing the demolition component of Stage 1 on the Joint Health Centre Townsville project for Department of Defence.
