15.01.2022 How great does our #GRDC invested linseed trial look! Nearly all sites are in full flower and looking the goods! Germination has been superb over our sites this growing season, and we are very confident in the results from our in-field assessments so far.

13.01.2022 What do you think? WA Agriculture Minister Alannah MacTiernan says the sector may need to pay more to attract skilled workers to roles such as header driving. M...s MacTiernan says the State Gov will target young people, students and unemployed to fill an expected shortfall in agriculture and horticulture in coming months. She says while some highly skilled people such as former pilots are training to drive harvest machinery, the low pay rate is a deterrent.

11.01.2022 Project Officer Sheridan completing assessments today at her GRDC invested Long Seasons Wheats & GRDC invested Red Wheat Trial site. Currently at 14 weeks post sowing, plots are varying between a late Tillering Growth Stage - GS25-29 to Jointing stage/Stem elongation - GS30-39, with Scepter Wheat & Maximus Barley (barley comparison for Red Wheat Project) very near to Booting Stages GS41.

11.01.2022 Lamb weighing has been completed at one of our sites for our MLA Alternative fodder project. 135 lambs were weighed at an average of 24.03kg. 5000 lambs will be put over a 104ha lupin & vetch fodder paddock over the summer. The lambs will be weighed again halfway through the grazing period and at the completion of the grazing period. With 50 lambs from the mob being weighed to monitor growth. Our target growth is 200g per day with the aim of reaching 52kg by March 2021. Watch this space for mid-way results. Does this project interest you? We are looking for site hosts for 2021. 05.01.2022 FLAX!! Our #GRDC Kenmare Linseed site is just about ready for harvest! With a lack of finishing rain, the flax has struggled over the last month or two however it still looks very promising aiming to target around 800kg/ha - 1.5t/ha. Harvest updates coming soon!
