23.01.2022 SSSA would like to invite all interested and eligible members to the Womens U18 Squad Sessions starting Thursday the 14th of February (this coming Thursday) It ...will be at 6:30 till 8:30. Please bring a water bottle and appropriate gear. The squad sessions are players chance to see what is required and the coaching staffs opportunity to assess candidates. These sessions will run fortnightly and finish with a trial. If participating you are required to Express Interest via the SSSA website: http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi

22.01.2022 SSSA - Round 13 - All Games Cancelled After allowing all information to be taken in to consideration including The POOR air quality level being maintained for... tomorrow The recognised reporting agency for air quality by Softball NSW which recommends not playing at this level Cricket in the Sutherland Shire has called off all games for this weekend The SSSA Adverse Weather Committee have decided to cancel the round as we have a duty to the members to not play where there is a chance it potentially could be unsafe to do so. Have the day off everyone and lets get ready for a big final round next week with lots going on including 4:30 Showcase game the 2020 U16 Women Vs SSSA A Grade Allstars on Diamond 1 also the Movie night hosted fully by the Association all information forthcoming this week so secure your spot as it will be popular!

17.01.2022 REMINDER: Session 2 - Compulsory Umpiring Training Night is scheduled for this Wednesday 18th September from 7pm-9pm. Session 1 was postponed due to the burst w...ater pipe in Caringbah and will be held on Wednesday 16th October from 7pm-9pm.... which is perfect as daylight saving begins after the October long weekend. These umpiring sessions are targeted at those who would not normally do much umpiring, so the SSSA does not expect senior coaches or existing leveled umpires to attend. Unfortunately penalties apply if a team is not represented at the session. Teeball & Modball exempt. 15.01.2022 Congratulations to SSSA representatives Stacey McManus and Shannon Keevers on their selection to the 2019 Travelodge Aussie Spirit squad. The 30 player squad w...ill attend an Open Womens Traning Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in March as they prepare for the 2019 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) season in the USA where they will compete as the Aussie Peppers of Minnesota. All 30 players are eligible for selection in the Aussie Peppers team, Softball Australia is currently working through player availability for the NPF season. Softball Australia will announce a team of 17 players following the conclusion of the NPF season in August 2019, who will represent the Travelodge Aussie Spirit at the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifier in China (September 24 29). 13.01.2022 And that’s a wrap! Another great season for Southern Storm with 4 of our 5 teams coming away as 2019/20 Premiers. Congrats and thank you to all our players, staff, parents, officials and opposition on an excellent season full of fun, skill and friendships. In summary: - Our young Junior B team continued to develop their skills and knowledge of the game throughout the season rewarding them with a place in the semi-finals where they went down to Wave. Congrats to Wave on taking... out the JB premiership. - Our Stormy Arrows t-ball team continued to learn and practice the basic skills of the game with every player learning how to play every position throughout the season. Their hard work paid off as 2019/20 T-ball Premiers. Well done to all players and thank you Arrows Softball Club for another shared season with a great group of kids. - Junior A kicked off grand finals day with a 8-6 win over Tigers Black. These girls had a great season with many players new to the game, each one improving so much over the season. Well done girls & super coach Matt Hayes and again, thank you for another collaborative effort from Arrows Softball Club so that we could field a team in the competition. - Our fabulous Ladies D grade team had a great season and managed to defeat St Pats in the grand final for their first premiership! Huge congrats to this great group of women! - Unfortunately due to bucketing rain our A Grade team was unable to play the grand final against a strong Wave side. As Minor Premiers we won by default which, although unfortunate, doesn’t dampen a stellar season from this extremely talented team. Just because our season is over doesnt mean everyone will be hanging up their cleats. Keep an eye out for Storm's Stacey McManus as she heads to the US to play in the National Professional Fastpitch League as well as hopefully in the Tokyo Olympics! Until she heads overseas you can catch her running some softball school holiday clinics alongside Shannon Keevers, book a place and support these talented athletes pursue the ultimate in softball.

10.01.2022 Huge Congratulations to our NSW U23's player Bria Toohey on an exceptional performance at Nationals. Bria captained the NSW team into the grand final with a close loss to QLD in an awesome display of softball. Well done to Bria and all the players and staff on a great campaign!
