02.04.2022 In Round 1 we discovered that my car really doesn't like wet weather (even though in the past I've really enjoyed racing in the rain).... Round 2 simply reconfirmed that a live axle RX7 turbo with big torques, old tyres, on a sodden track (also coated in a surreal worm plague) isn't the best. 23.01.2022 UPDATE... Looks like I've found some! Will confirm once collected and tested. Seeking.... Series 3 RX7 26 Spline Axles (that are nice and straight unlike those in my racecar). The good part of this search is that it's because we've found my persistent issue.... But now I'm in need.... Help!... 19.01.2022 A few niggly issues in race 2 meant a DNF but fingers crossed the fixes work and while starting last in the final race it should be fun trying to work my way forward.

18.01.2022 Gearbox rebuild, done. Engine rebuild, done. Running in, done. List remaining.... Upgrade fuel system, dyno tuning, body repair, stickers, bleed brakes, finish races.
18.01.2022 Totally nailed the start.... Then had to pick my battles. But was great to be racing even if this did end up my only completely reliable race of the weekend (though the other two had pretty good starts so I'll upload the opening laps of them too). 17.01.2022 Testing update... Trying to find the source of the stubborn vibration (that feels like the cause of last years gearbox failures) has now moved further rearward (after already rebuilding gearbox, new tail-shaft, replacing flywheel, pressure plate, checking clutch)..... Testing did serve it's purpose and with vibration still evident, definitely speed dependent and checked even more pronounced at speed in neutral, it's now time to focus on axle, driveshafts, diff and see if something bent (in which case I'll have to work out which bit of previous wheel banging to blame). Disappointed not to have solved the problem already but feel closer to solution and glad got to test with a month to spare before season starts.

06.01.2022 Passing five people by the exit of turn one, including splitting my two best buddies (blue M3 and pale blue Walkinshaw Commodore), was great ..... Unfortunately I'd mis-diagnosed my race 2 issue so didn't go on with the race but these few seconds certainly put a smile on my dial.

04.01.2022 We're celebrating 30 years of racing at Eastern Creek's Sydney Motorsport Park with some after dark action this weekend. 2020 has been a trying year for me in the IPRA NSW - Improved Production Racing Association NSW championship and I'll be on very used rubber (to save budget for tyres in 2021) for the final round. But as the expression goes "A bad day at the race track is better than a good day at work" and I've enjoyed every day at the track regardless of unexpected issue...s. Big thanks to these guys (linked and those without links) for getting me back on track every time, keeping me smiling, slinging me generous deals and lots of great advice.
