16.01.2022 Over the past year, weve further diversified and contextualised the types of lessons we create at Stile to ground them in current, real-world socio-scientific issues. You mightve seen this in our science news lessons such as Slowing the spread, our scientific technologies and discoveries lessons including The first image of a black hole and more recently, our very first art of science lesson: Why are bees disappearing?. In our latest blog post, we provide an in-depth insight into why we create these lessons and the different contexts you might use them in class. We also discuss how these lessons fit into our mission of making science interesting, accessible and yet challenging for every student. We hope you enjoy!

15.01.2022 We’ve mutated our genetics unit because you know...sex cells. To make our genetics unit even better, we’ve just added three new lessons on punnett squares, sex-linked and codominant inheritance. Students learn how to complete simple genetic crosses and then apply this to predict the inheritance of sex-linked and codominant traits. They also practise converting fractions, percentages and ratios.... This unit is packed with real-world examples to engage your students and show them the relevance of science in their everyday lives. We’ve also integrated several high impact teaching strategies including explicit teaching, worked examples and structuring the lesson from lower to high-order thinking. Click the link below to view the updated unit. We hope it helps your students unravel the mysteries of DNA!

12.01.2022 Join us for a Q&A panel discussion with three experienced educators and school leaders on transitioning back to school, and the impact that COVID-19 has had on education both now and in the future. We'll begin by asking three questions: - What have you learnt from teaching and learning in a remote setting that you will take back into a face-to-face setting?... - There are a number of schools that will be taking Stile, or perhaps other digital learning resources theyve adopted during this time back into the classroom with them. What would be your recommendations to other school leaders to ensure success with the roll-out and implementation of new resources? - What are the things that are going to have changed in education as a result of remote learning? The floor is then yours to ask our panel your questions!
