25.01.2022 The Mitchell Shire Council is the responsible local authority for the site of the proposed Memorial. We are delighted to have hosted a site inspection with the Mayor and the Manager - Livable Communities. This inspection also featured a private visit to the site where the wing landed nearly a kilometer from the main crash site. This was particularly special for committee members as this site is on private land and is not able to be seen from the Memorial site. We thank Mitchell Shire Council for their support and look forward to working closely with them in the future. https://www.mitchellshire.vic.gov.au/

06.01.2022 Over the next few months, the Stinson Memorial committee will be working hard to clean and clear the site, build the memorial and try to fill in successful grant applications. There's no guarantee those applications will be successful so we are hoping that we can raise some funds from other sources. If you are interested in supporting this project, then direct deposits can be made to the Mia Mia Mechanics Institute Inc Bendigo Bank Account. Details can be found in our About information page.

05.01.2022 Fiona Parker from ABC Central Victoria interviewed Rob Chapman and Ellis Knight on the Breakfast Show this morning. Ellis was 10 years old when he witnessed the plane starting to break up and disappear behind the hill as he made his way to school. His memories of that day are still strong and disquieting. https://www.abc.net.au/radio/centralvic/
