23.01.2022 In these difficult times it is important to self isolate. Home is the safest place for you to be. I am still seeing people if they have an urgent need. I can still treat your chronic oedema to prevent infection and maintain your mobility. As a registered nurse I can see you for your lymphoedema / breast cancer needs but not for remedial massage since the federal health ban. Measures taken to keep you safe at our clinic: + Half hour gap between my clients so I can ... wash down the room + All clinic handles, pens, flat surfaces (and anything else we can think of) are washed down on a regular basis + Scrupulous hand washing + Wearing a mask (for as long as my limited supply lasts) + Everyone washes their hands before they enter the clinic + Chairs in the waiting room are limited to 1 but you can wait in the car and ring the clinic prior to entering. 20.01.2022 The ALA is pleased to advise that all states and territories in Australia have now exempted lymphoedema therapy (via the therapists main health profession) from any bans or restrictions, as long as the therapist is providing a therapeutic health service. All therapists who continue to see patients face to face must continue to adhere to strict hygiene protocols, and obviously take into account clinical judgement on the necessity of the consultation, the state of health of the... patient and whether or not PPE is appropriate and available. It is important that patients with acute and/or chronic conditions do not miss out on regular care which is keeping them well. The ALA has a dedicated webpage for COVID-19 where you will find general information, links to financial assistance and support available, and specific details regarding business restrictions within each state. Hope that you are staying and safe and well.

17.01.2022 GOOD NEWS! The government has qualified what they mean by stopping 'massage therapy'. On the 31st of March it was reported that the closure involved 'Spas and massage parlours providing relaxation massages as distinct from therapeutic or remedial massage'. This means that I can see those needing remedial massage even though I still believe the safest place for you is at home. We still have many infection control measures in place for your safety.

06.01.2022 These are all common sense measures we should all be doing anyway. Remember that handwashing should be for about 20 seconds. (sing a verse of happy birthday slowly). We have hand sanitiser for you to use before and after you appointment as well as tissues.

04.01.2022 Swelling is an obvious sign of lymphoedema but cellulitis (an infection of the skin) or aching of a 'high risk' limb are also signs that you may have a problem. Be body aware and seek advice from your health professional.
