23.01.2022 Absolutely endorse this appreciation of the Perth NRM's support for our coastal activities
22.01.2022 Wow ... What an adventure ...
22.01.2022 Note the exposed sand above the limestone platform where only a very little more exposure will cause the plants and sand above to slump downwards causing unnecessary degradation. Monitoring for these small places can ensure timely identification and that 'spot' reinforcement can take place next planting season.
21.01.2022 A safe, pleasure to walk around and to the entrance to one of the special bay beaches for public and dog use.

Oenophera drummondii (Evening primrose) lovely however a weed here, more Dune onion weed, Gazania and Tetragonia decumbens, all taken out in order to reinvigorate the dunes with local species. 11.01.2022 Wildlife photos taken during the Coastal part of the BioBlitz
08.01.2022 Such delightful mornings for Coastcare activities across North Beach and Watermans Bay beaches. Working between IOMRC south to Lawley Street beach access. Mostly Tetragona decumbens and Dune onion weed targeted; needing that special attention to keep them from resurgence. There are always some not spotted previously or brought in inadvertently by wind, clothing, wildlife. That ongoing attention is a little like the old proverb ... a stitch in time saves nine ....
06.01.2022 Terrific corporate effort with 22 volunteers all in recommended work gear ie for work activity along the beachfront dunes in Scarborough. This photo captures Uncle Neville Collard giving the Welcome to Country prior to the group starting on ground work. SNEC with absolutely reliably splendid effort from Perth NRM's staff who with their wide experience liaised with Rio Tinto on SNEC's behalf to engage Neville and to organise much of their delicious morning teas from the local nearby cafe. Many thanks to all who participated. Those weeds were removed at just the right time and with continued M&M or is it MnM that area will be super ready for planting up next year.
04.01.2022 how interesting ... ...
04.01.2022 SNEC Volunteers working at the southern most section of Bennion Beach if you look closely you will see them and also they were backed up for an hour with 2 staff for special assistance from City of Stirling with management of persistent invasives to avoid damage to this previously revegetated area. So lucky without rain in the morning while we were checking what would be visible sufficiently long enough to have it its photo taken Terrific morning set up at the Henderson Centre in Star Swamp. Friends group members assisted hosting the day s events assisted by those knowledgeable volunteers and those professionals who give freely of their time to support these valuable community events.. good on you all ...
04.01.2022 Great to hear ...such an asset for community ...
03.01.2022 'Between BEACH and BUSH' Celebratory event where Coastcare and Friends of Star Swamp Bushland were beneficiaries of the successful sell-out first run of Chris Holyday's significant contribution to local 'bay beaches' of City of Stirling's history. Chris's efforts were supported financially by City of Stirling and Phil Pope and the many other people who Chris interviewed and who gave new material and rights to use rarely seen stories. Evidently the second print has been expanded while retaining all content in the first. Davey Real Estate North Beach has again offered to sell copies - what a great holiday read for anyone with an interest and love of the area. AND .. .. Many Thanks for thinking of recognizing financially the efforts of the Volunteers. A really good news story.'
02.01.2022 Close up photos clearly show the valuable sideline role played by local dune species; doing their best to retain beach sand with their deeply networked root systems. However even though all looks well in these beaches at present with the milder weather, especially with the recent lower tides and wider sandy beaches near water areas it is timely that holistic solutions to retain beach amenities are already underway.
01.01.2022 The monthly guided walk through Star Swamp Bushland is next Saturday, 24 October, leaving from the Henderson Centre at 8am for around an hour and a half. There ...are still lots of flowers in bloom, the rainbow bee eaters have arrived and other birds are nesting. And the weather should be perfect. All welcome to this free activity, wear closed footwear and bring a hat. See more
