The 24 year old Javanese man who became part of our family two years ago, believes that he was destined to have met the founder of Stitch and Straw. He is so happy to have grown to be a much more skillful craftsman, and to have a more stable income, having gone through his years of hardship being a school dropout back in his hometown. Swipe right to see Sandi creating Kepang, this is the process to braid the rattan, and is still done manually today. Just like any other traditional handcrafts, a lot of the process is still done by hand, and that’s what makes each product so special... you will never find a second identical piece @ Indonesia
