07.01.2022 Today is International Coffee Day. Are you a coffee drinker? How do you drink your coffee - sugar, cream, flavored, plain, or one of the varieties in the image?... No one knows exactly how or when coffee was discovered and there are many legends about its origin. According to The National Coffee Association, it was discovered by Kaldi, the goatherd, in the Ethiopian highlands. Legend says he noticed when his flock nibbled on the bright red berries of a certain bush, they did not want to sleep at night. The International Coffee Organization says the global spread of coffee growing and drinking began in the Ethiopian province of Kaffa. Legend says the coffee cherries were eaten by slaves taken from present-day Sudan into Yemen and Arabia through the great port of its day, Mocha. Whatever the origin, it’s one of the most popular drinks around the world.
