23.01.2022 An interesting article.

22.01.2022 Don Broadwater is a brother in the Lord who recently put up this post on his Fb page. The message is spot on so it’s being shared. What do you do when everything you do isn’t good enough? How can you feel that your life is changing when you keep doing everything that you don’t want to do? How can you get past feeling like you are trapped in your old life when every attempt to live a new life reminds you of past mistakes? You may be surprised to know that these are the exa...ct feelings that the Apostle Paul expressed when he was being honest about his personal struggle to do what God wanted him to do (Romans 7:15-24). Yet sadly, there seems to be little of this kind of honestly in churches these days. And the result is that many Christians aren’t living authenticate livesand because of thatmany non-Christians feel that church isn’t for them because they are made to feel that they aren’t good enough to be forgiven. And in thatwhat they expressunknown to themreveals the very gospel that has been unwittingly forgotten. For the gospel isn’t good news about our becoming people who are suddenly good people. The good news is that while acknowledging just how bad we arewe are made ready to receive God’s forgiveness because Christ came to save sinners! (1 Timothy 1:15-16) So how about thishow about all of us being a little more honest this year! How about our admitting that we really can’t do this by ourselves. And how about us celebrating the grace that God has given us because of Jesus! We might just discover how liberating it is to not have to pretend anymore! And we might see people asking us about our faith because they see Christ in us! (Romans 7:25-8:17) See more

21.01.2022 Someone once said that; the more we turn from Christ, the more we look to the law. Dr Peter Barnes has an interesting article that follows similar thinking.

12.01.2022 We have resumed worshipping our Lord with a slightly modified service. With distancing requirements we can only have 35 in the congregation. However, there is no reason why we couldn't hold another service on Sunday evening if the numbers warranted. The following is a novel approach. We haven't seen the need to go quite so far ... hope to see you soon. https://m.youtube.com/watch

09.01.2022 It seems that the sign is now working properly. Our Sunday worship is at 9:30am and you are very welcome to attend. However, due to safe distancing requirements, please be aware that we can seat a maximum of 35 worshippers.

08.01.2022 Some interesting thoughts about the first records of Christianity. Something well worth considering ... especially if you’re serious about sharing your faith.

06.01.2022 Our digital sign is a bit like Darth Vader's Death Star - nearly fully operational. Just a few adjustments to go. Pray that our Lord will use this technology for his glory.

05.01.2022 Joel Beeke has a way of sharing Puritan works so that we are enabled to do better and encouraged to see that need. This article is no exception and well worth a few minutes reading.

04.01.2022 When we travel we try to keep a couple of ‘rules’ to limit outside contact. We do this deliberately so that we can relax and enjoy our holiday. One of the exceptions that we allow ourselves is to listen to the morning news and, if obviously worthwhile, the commentary following. During our trip one of the reports that continually caught our attention was the apparent rise in self-harm and suicide throughout all age groups in especially Victoria and, particularly, in Melbourne.... At a time when digital technology has given us ‘virtual’ contact, including avatars that can almost participate in a conversation to gaming that can hold the attention of youth or adult for endless hours or even to the good-ole-fashioned books and TV, there is no loss of mental stimulation from virtually everythingwhatever your circumstance. Yet, digital is not dynamic. You cannot smell or feel or taste an avatar. You cannot know the mind of the game builder. Even with Zoom you cannot be proximate with the person on the screen. Why should this matter? When God created humans, He did so in his image. He made us to be in a relationship with Him and with others where we can see, feel, hear, taste and touch the other person. The ultimate example of this being marriage where a man and a woman are reunified so that, potentially, they can create. As Covid-19 has demanded the breaking of personal contact with others and brought disastrous results, so too our sin severs our relationship with our heavenly Father and the result of that breakdown is more devastating than our imaginations can fathom (Rom 3:23; 6:23a). Using the resources that God has provided, incredibly skilled and intelligent scientists are at work to discover a vaccine and a cure for Covid-19. Thankfully, God has already given us the only remedy for our sin (Rom 5:8). Faith in the Lord Jesus, faith in his sacrificial death on behalf of each of us and faith in his physical resurrection from the grave is a gift from our heavenly Father so that we can repent, we can be forgiven and we can have the close familial ties (Rom 8:12-17) with our Almighty God restored and reinstated just as God had planned before the dawn of time (Mark 10:45; John 5:24; 6:26-29; 38-40; 11:25; 14:1-7; Acts 4:10-12; Rom 10:10-15; 2 Cor 5:1-8; Eph 2:1-10; Heb 12:1-3;1 Peter 1:17-21; 2:4-10; 1 John 1:8-10; 4:7-13).

03.01.2022 We praise God for what is happening at SIPPC this September. On Sunday 6th we will be celebrating the Lord's Supper. Within this worship we will also be hosting a Commencement of Ministry segment during which Rev Samuel Choi will be formally introduced into our ministry team. Sam is a champion bloke, married to Hannah and with four children, he will be focussing his ministry on younger adults, growing families and beginning a new congregation. One positive aspect of coronavir...us is that many people have had the time and taken the opportunity to reassess their lives and their priorities. What if you were in a position where funding, resources and creativity were unlimited, where would your priorities lie? This month and next we'll be thinking alongside Solomon as he pondered that question and shared his thoughts in the book of Ecclesiastes. One negative aspect is that our seating capacity has been severely reduced so if you're planning to visit please be here before our service begins at 9:30am and if you're feeling unwell, please defer coming till you're better. Thanks. See more
