Facilities will be open 7am to 6pm. Please note we are not providing toiletries or towels. 20.01.2022 This year on Remembrance Day we commemorated the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Almost a million Australians served during the Second World War and millions more contributed to the war effort on the home front. During the war, the Ku-ring-gai region hosted some major Australian defence agencies and bases and from 1941 the 18th Battalion, known as the Ku-ring-gai Regiment, were based at the St Ives Showground until the end of the war. Relics of their occupation, such as old army buildings and footings for mess huts, wash houses and headquarters, can still be seen throughout the Showground.

20.01.2022 Birds of Prey Warning There have been recent reports of birds of prey attacking dogs at St Ives Showground. During periods of food shortages caused by drought and bushfires, raptors may be more likely to prey on domestic animals. Small dogs within the weight range preferred by birds of prey are potentially at risk. Please keep an eye on your dog.

20.01.2022 All outdoor spaces at the St Ives Showground remain open and we encourage people to connect with nature while practising social distancing. If children use play equipment, they should wash their hands before and after play (there are toilets near all our play equipment). Please note bookings for indoor spaces at the Showground have been suspended until further notice.

15.01.2022 **Announcement** **Kite Festival called off** Looking at the current weather situation at St Ives Showgrounds, St Ives, weve had to take this disappointing... and unfortunate call this morning to call off the event at this stage. The prevailing conditions do not permit us to conduct any selling of kites, merchandise, food, drinks or any other items and/or conduct any other activities throughout the day. The weather is forecasted to get worse going forward tomorrow and its best that we make this announcement now. We are very disappointed to make this announcement but we are sure that it is understandable to everyone as it affects the safety of all the patrons & vendors and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk. The gra...nt will go towards upgrading the power supply at the Showground and work starts next week. The Stimulus Package is aimed at improving all 137 NSW showgrounds and boosting local economies as a result.
