15.01.2022 Last Friday, we had our annual Presentation and Awards Assembly. On this occasion, our Student Representative Councillors were presented with their badges, and recipients of Academic Achievement and effort awards were recognised. The prestigious "Unity in Christ" award was also presented to one student in each Year Level.

15.01.2022 As we near the end of term, students are working on assignments and/or exams and we are feeling the leftovers of lockdown (additional device use and/or slipped lessons for some students). We recognise it is a difficult time for parents trying balance sensitivity, support and limits. Many students at our school have been participating in the COVID19 Chilled and Considerate Bootcamp. This program is aimed at helping students cope with any unease caused by worry and uncertainty ...in the return to school. If parents find themselves starting to feel anxious or worried and would like to understand the concepts and support their children with their worries, the Chilled and Considerate program has developed a one hour online parent course which can be accessed by multiple members of your household. The course will help you understand and support the messages delivered in the classroom. As an enrolled school, parents are entitled to a $10 discount on the parent bootcamp. In addition, to encourage enrolment over the next week, this has been increased to $15 (the program cost is $30 instead of $45), please go to the website by this Sunday to activate this reduction. The program can be completed at your own leisure, eight times. To activate this reduced price please use the word SUNDAY when you reach the checkout https://www.covid19chilledandconsiderate.com/parentbootcamp

07.01.2022 On Friday 28 August, Write a Book in a Day is on again. This time we are writing in our own homes. After completing the SIS Book in a Day challenge, involving an evil lollypop and a blind mentor, our team is looking forward to the National challenge. If you would like to support us in our efforts, please head to https://writeabookinaday.com/teams/?id=311 And an excerpt from the SIS book: Where would we find such a big speaker? Youre the smart person here, Im just a kid,... she replied. The room filled with silence. Nothing was said for a short while. There were still brainwashed people outside. What if we used the PA system, Sir? Mr Astonishments eyes lit up. How are we going to get past the Mind-controlled people? You said yourself, we have to give into fear to master it. She grinned, obviously enjoying the act. When did I say that? He scratched his head. She rolled her eyes at him, and pulled him along. Lets just get past the creepy people and put an end to this. - Mathew Risos. See more

07.01.2022 On Monday 2 March, four St Kilda Football club players ran an AFL clinic for 8.1 and 8.2 students during their PE class. The students were lucky enough to be coached by the players and then participate in a Q&A session with the players. It was fantastic to welcome back Ryan Byrnes (SJC Year 10, 2017) as one of the players selected to present the clinic. He gave our students a great insight into what it took him to become an AFL listed player.
