16.03.2022 Hello Everyone, As part of our standard procedure during COVID-19, and to ensure our patients receive the best and most appropriate prehospital care, our Crews will be asking all patients if they have any flu like symptoms. This is to protect our amazing Volunteers and our Community of Victoria Plains against the spread of any potentially infectious illness including COVID-19. When calling for an Ambulance, you will be asked by the 000 call taker if you have flu like symptoms.... When our crews arrive, they will ask you the same questions. Please don’t be scared to answer truthfully, even if you think you just have a mild cold. We have strict hygiene measures in place to keep you and our crews safe. Our goal is to help our community stay safe and stop the spread - but we can’t do that without our resilient and fantastic Community behind us. Stay safe. The St John Team Victoria Plains

21.01.2022 Snake season is here, and while we don't have cobras who dodge balls, we have five of the most deadliest snakes in the world here in Australia! Last year, we ...had a record number of West Australians treated for snake bites. In total there were 169 people who required our assistance. Snakes are typically more active as the weather warms up, so we encourage everyone to be mindful of their surroundings when gardening or walking around foliage. If you are bitten by a snake, immediately call Triple Zero (000) through our First Responder app so we can easily locate you. We recommend if you haven't already, to scrub up on your first aid training skills and learn how to provide first aid to snake bites. 13.01.2022 Today marks the start of Men's Health Week. We want to help raise awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early treatment of illnesses that affec...t men. Men are statistically less likely to seek medical aid when suffering from a medical condition, both physical or mental. We all have the power to change this. Tag a mate to help raise awareness! More information about Mens Health Week can be found here: https://www.menshealthweek.org.au/ #menshealthweek
