23.01.2022 Congratulations to Pat Elliot, who was awarded Life Membership to the Chittering Gingin Sub-Centre for her dedicated service as an active Ambulance Officer and Sub-Centre Secretary. Pat has the First Bar to her Ambulance Service medal which recognises 23 years’ service to the Sub-Centre during which time she served as Secretary for 15 years. Pat is very deserving of this award and a great asset to our Sub-Centre and the local community. I’m sure many of you who know Pat would agree!

22.01.2022 The St John First Responder App is a must have on your Smartphone- and it's FREE! In a nutshell, here are all of the amazing things it can help with in an emergency situation. Sends your GPS coordinates to the operator when you call Triple 000 for an ambulance, speeding up the time it takes to confirm your location and dispatch and ambulance. Current First aid instruction guides helping you to treat a range of injuries and illnesses. Defibrillator (AED) locator - showi...ng all the defibrillator locations near you. Locate nearest medical centres and emergency departments - including live ED waiting time information. Patient transport services information. First aid course information and refresher reminder notices First aid tips and special offers - keeping you up to date with handy first aid information. The St John First Responder app allows qualified first aiders in WA to sign up and become a registered first responder. If a nearby emergency occurs (in a public place within 500 meters), you will be notified and given the opportunity to assist until the ambulance arrives. See more

19.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

18.01.2022 We’re sorry, the road closure along Muchea South Road will be in place for an extra two days, until 5am Monday 18 November. The repairs to the surface of the r...oad, were more extensive than anticipated and it’s taking a little longer to finish. The detour continues to be via Great Northern Highway. Night work may also occur during the closure if necessary. Thank you for your patience during these works. For detour map: https://tinyurl.com/vg3z2np See more

18.01.2022 To top off a great night at the Chittering Gingin Sub-Centre Christmas Party, Murray Hyne received his Third Bar to his Ambulance Service medal which officially recognises 27 years of service to the Chittering Gingin Sub-Centre. Murray has been volunteering his time to us much longer than the official records state and his commitment to ambulance callouts is still as strong as the day he first started! Congratulations Murray.

18.01.2022 The St John Chittering/Gingin Committee are pleased to announce that work has commenced to construct a new Sub-Centre building in Bindoon! 14.01.2022 If someone you know has asthma, you may want to read this. It's really important that you use a spacer with a puffer if someone is suffering from an asthma atta...ck. Using a spacer means the patient receives a more effective dose of Ventolin. It could really make a difference if they're having a severe attack. If a spacer is not available to the patient, you can improvise by using a plastic bottle. All you need to do is cut a hole at the bottom and poke the puffer through the space. Always call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency situation, especially if the patient is not breathing normally. For more information on Asthma management, please visit Asthma Australia's website: https://asthma.org.au/

04.01.2022 Good Morning Chittering & Gingin Residents, As part of our standard procedure during COVID-19, and to ensure our patients receive the best and most appropriate prehospital care, our Crews will be asking all patients if they have any flu like symptoms. This is to protect our amazing Volunteers and our Community against the spread of any potentially infectious illness including COVID-19. When calling for an Ambulance, you will be asked by the 000 call taker if you have flu like... symptoms. When our crews arrive, they will ask you the same questions. Please don’t be scared to answer truthfully, even if you think you just have a mild cold. We have strict hygiene measures in place to keep you and our crews safe. Our goal is to help our community stay safe and stop the spread - but we can’t do that without our resilient and fantastic Community behind us. Stay safe! The Chittering-Gingin St John Team
