25.01.2022 This incredible group of St John members have been manning the temperature testing at the Albury airport and railway station for 19 straight weeks. Weekdays will often start with a 5.30 am shift at the airport, and every day finishes with a 10 pm shift at the station, with numerous shifts in between. This happens 7 days a week and they haven't missed a single shift in all that time! Well done to all members involved and thank you for always being their to support your communities.

25.01.2022 "I want to thank all of the Junior and Cadet leaders at St John Ambulance. Their dedication, passion and sense of fun, week in and week out, makes it such a great place to learn." Your generous gift can help to train and equip tomorrow's health leaders. Give today via: stjohnnsw.com.au/donate

24.01.2022 Meet Michael - one of the incredible St John Ambulance volunteers supporting his community during COVID. "As most of the usual events I help out at have been cancelled due to COVID-19, I still wanted to do my part in these 'unprecedented times'. One of the ways I could help out was to volunteer at various venues to screen the public and help spread knowledge and awareness about measures to minimise the spread of this potentially deadly virus. As the saying goes, 'we are all in this together' so I felt almost obligated to do whatever I could to help out both the community and support St John as a wonderful organisation which feels almost like a family."

21.01.2022 Meet Yannick - one of our responders and a Peer Support Officer at St John Ambulance. He joined two years ago because he knew it would be the best way for him to help his community while engaging with unique patients from all walks of life. I’m currently a medical student with aspirations to pursue anaesthesia speciality training. Ultimately, I want to be able to give back to St John as it has given me so much, by helping patients who may be critically ill and in desperate need of medical attention.

21.01.2022 We're so proud to have partnered with NSW RFSA to train more than 900 volunteer firefighters in mental health first aid. These frontline heroes kept us safe through devastating bushfires, and are now learning how to deal with mental health - for themselves, their colleagues and the wider community.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to St John Ambulance Cadet Leader Brooke Allan on being awarded Young Volunteer of the Year for Sydney's Upper North Shore. Brooke has dedicated over 600 hours to St John, including 200 hours during last summer’s devastating fires, all while studying paramedicine.

20.01.2022 How do we prepare to respond to an emergency situation? We regularly participate in training activities to test response times, first aid techniques, communication skills and team work. Most recently, a number of our volunteers from Granville Division teamed up with the local NSW SES to take part in a joint mass casualty training exercise.

14.01.2022 A big congratulations to 25 of our amazing staff and volunteers who were vaccinated against COVID-19 yesterday! This pandemic has been scary, but St John members have not let fear and uncertainty stop them in their mission of helping their communities. They have been on the frontline offering support wherever they can. In speaking of his experience yesterday, Simon said: "I think the key thing is around protecting our community. The only way we can get back to normal, for lac...k of a better word, is to get to a point where we have eliminated the virus or at least made it safe for the community and the only way we can do that is if enough people are vaccinated, so it's not a clear present threat. "For me, getting vaccinated means that I won't be putting anyone in our community at risk." We are grateful to our volunteers who take any measure they can to protect and help their communities.

13.01.2022 Chris is a QANTAS pilot who began working with St John last year as part of our frontline COVID support. He's helped provide critical temperature screening support at Quarantine Hotels and Sydney Airport. This is him just two days apart. Since the pandemic, St John has onboarded more than 300 QANTAS staff to assist with the work we're doing to support COVID efforts. With the airline industry so severely impacted, it's our way of helping out while also being able to increase ...the support we give to the community. Chris said: The people I have met and work with are fabulous, I’ve learnt a brand new skillset and have been introduced to a totally different industry. It’s been refreshingly different. I’m also really proud to be helping out with Australia’s fight against COVID-19. #covidsupport #frontlineworkers #pilot #temperaturescreening #australiansupport #australiancommunites #stjohnnsw #sjansw #proud #honour

12.01.2022 Klara is one of many St John members who are still out there supporting COVID-19 efforts and keeping all of us safe. Most of the time I'm health screening in corporate offices in response to the pandemic. St John provided such great training in preparation for the role, as well as offering ongoing support from a dedicated team of managers and opportunities for upskilling."

I'm now a Cadet Leader, in charge of training new cadets, and meeting such enthusiastic and driven youth members has become one of my favourite things about volunteering with St John." - Lily, St John Ambulance Volunteer
