25.01.2022 Last night our College Board and P&F celebrated the end of 2020 with a farewell dinner honouring Damien and Julia Quinn and Fr. Graham. Damien and Julia were presented the Fr. Pat Carroll Award for 2020. This award recognises significant contributions from members of the parent body to the St John's community. We thank the Quinn's for their contribution over the last decade and wish them well as they 'retire' from the P&F! The P&F presented Fr. Graham with a beautiful gift from Ben Messina Landscapes Gallery in Maleny. The Johnnie's community wishes you all the very best Fr. Graham!

24.01.2022 Wishing one and all a wonderful weekend!

24.01.2022 HELP URGENTLY NEEDED! We are desperately short of volunteers on Wednesday 2nd September and Monday 7th September. Please, if you have just 2 hours to spare, why not help out the wider community by volunteering between 3:30 and 6pm at St Luke's Lutheran Church Hall, Sydney St, Nambour.

24.01.2022 On Wednesday, three St John’s Teams competed at the Justin Hodges 9s Gala Day in Tewantin. The day provided students with the opportunity to participate in Rugby League games, allowing them to learn more about the game and develop their playing skills. Whilst the day was competitive, playing against other schools from the North Region, it was also a day of fun. As always, our St John’s students played with commitment, determination, and persistence, all the while showing resp...ect to their opponents and the competition officials. We had some great results on the day with many tightly contested games. Year 7 had 3 wins and 2 draws WINNERS of the Tournament for their age group Year 8 had 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses Year 9 had 3 wins and 1 loss Well done Boys Huge effort! A big THANK YOU to Mr Rob Charlton (Year 7), Mrs Louise Graham (Year 8) and Mr Tim Baldwin (Year 9) for coaching the teams.

24.01.2022 Johnnies helping in the community St John's recently donated seven great quality second hand cricket bats to the Nambour Cricket Club. Thank you to Mr Paul O'Dwyer for organising this donation, which is a blessing for the junior players at the club.

24.01.2022 One last time... Traditions are so very important to all of us at St John's. We count ourselves very fortunate that we were able to have parents attend the Year 12 final assembly and that they were then able to watch their graduating students walk down the hill and out the gates one last time. There were tears and cheers and a great feeling of accomplishment as we farewelled our Year 12 2020 cohort. Unbind and Set Free.

23.01.2022 Year 8 Wellbeing Day - Students shared breakfast before breaking out into groups to complete the Aus-Identities Personality Quiz, thought of possible career paths whilst rebuilding life on Mars, heard from former Bronco's and international league legend Jack Reed about overcoming obstacles and showing resilience, learnt what it meant to be the 'salt of the earth' adding 'flavour' by making salt bottles and last but in no way least completed a problem solving and resilience building session with Mr Brown. Students had to make three cuts in a piece of card and turn it into picture 2 below. How? You'll have to ask your Year 8 student!

23.01.2022 We LOVE hearing about the successes of our past students and Brianna Heeley's USC news story is really one to be proud of! Brianna graduated from St John's in 2015 and went on to study a Bachelor of Environmental Science at USC. She graduated last year and currently works as a scientist with BMT's Ecology and Environmental Management team in Brisbane. To Brianna's credit, she was named BMT's 2020 Newcomer of the Year at it's annual INTERNATIONAL awards. What a superstar! Read her story here. https://www.usc.edu.au//high-tech-skills-give-graduate-win

14.01.2022 A teacher's words are the sparks that light up wicks of knowledge in a students' mind. Thank you for your care and guidance of our students. In the words of St John Chrysostom "What is greater work than to direct the minds and form the character of the young? I hold with certainty that no painter, no sculptor, nor any other artist does such excellent work as the one who moulds the mind of youth."

14.01.2022 Enjoy your last weekend of holidays everyone! School starts at 8:30 Monday

11.01.2022 This coming Friday is CTJ Day. What is that, you ask? CTJ is an acronym for Consistency of Teacher Judgement which essentially means that our fabulous teachers get together for a day of professional development outside the classroom environment to build teacher capacity to engage with the Australian Curriculum, understand its intent and develop teaching practices to make informed decisions about student learning. It's a very full day of learning for our teachers so that they can better assist our students by working on the planning, teaching and assessment of student work. So in a nutshell, Friday is a day off for students, so that the teachers can be students for a day!
