20.01.2022 MAGIC BAG IN LIBRARY Every Wednesday during our library sessions the Pre Primary and Kindy classes discover clues about the book of the week through ‘Magic Bag.’ This is when five objects related to the book in some way e.g. setting, characters, events, moral or problem etc. are placed in the bag. Each child has an opportunity to place their hand in their bag, revealing clues about the object and then ultimately trying to guess what the object is. It is a wonderful opportuni...ty to foster learning, stimulate curiosity and learn about the features of books. This week we borrowed a garden gnome from Mrs Erskine for one of our mystery objects for a book called Gnome by Fred Blunt. It is a hilarious book teaching us the value and importance of using our manners.

They discovered that it was all about ‘stepping out of the box,’ where artists created artwork from the place of dreams, imagination and the unusual. The most popular artist of this time was Salvador Dali who was known for being particularly eccentric and quirky. His painting ‘The Persistence of Time’ is instantly recognisable with its melting clocks and dreamlike landscape.
