03.01.2022 69% of Australian adults are unaware of how to help someone suffering from anaphylaxis*. Life-threatening allergic reactions can be pretty scary so its impor...tant you know what to do, as you could help save a loved one or even a complete stranger. Remember to follow the St John Action Plan: DRSABCD and check to see if the patient has an epi-pen on them. Also remember the golden rule for epi-pen usage: blue to sky orange to thigh. We have seen a few needles through thumbs before, so always make sure to take a breath, focus and read the instructions carefully before administering the adrenaline. If you need a re-cap on how to use an epi-pen, you can view our guide here: https://bit.ly/37dZLb5. Alternatively, you could book in for a refresher course here: https://bit.ly/38dddxk Schools can also book a free 10 minute presentation.
