As social distancing measur...es ease, please still be mindful if youre venturing off into rural areas and bushland. If you do decide to go alone, you tell someone where youre going. Lets continue to keep each other safe, have a great weekend everyone! CHC Helicopter RAC WA

25.01.2022 Please note it is only admin that is closed during Christmas - the volunteer ambulance service will still be available.

24.01.2022 In case you or someone you know needs help.

23.01.2022 Thanks to the Shire of Cunderdin for inviting St John to the Laser Tag on Saturday. It was great to catch up with the community and the police from Cunderdin, Kellerberrin and Quairading. There was a lot of interest in the ambulance and also trying to revive our poor manikin. It was really encouraging to see the youngsters interested in what the volunteers do and getting in and having a go.

20.01.2022 Taking some time out for a recent photo shoot in Cunderdin.

20.01.2022 Its National Volunteer Week and what better way to be involved than signing up with St John WA and be a part of a great group of volunteers in the Wheatbelt. The volunteers we have in the Wheatbelt do a tremendous job but are always on the look out for more help. There are a range of positions available such as urgent and routine community calls, interhospital transfers and working with the RAC Rescue helicopter and RFDS. You will receive a uniform and all training is provided so what are you waiting for?

20.01.2022 Dont get caught out. Did you know it could possibly cost you over $400 for a ride in the ambulance?

20.01.2022 If youve ever wondered what it takes to be involved with St John - have a read of the following information. Its a very rewarding voluntary position and one of great importance in the Community. We will be at OConnor Park tomorrow at Laser Tag - come over and say hello and have a look at the ambulance setup and there may even be a couple of demos happening that you can get involved with.

19.01.2022 Cunderdin sub centre will be closed today due to accounting software upgrades. We will be back in business next Tuesday 20th from 9am-4pm. Sorry for any inconvenience.

18.01.2022 With summer on its way, theres no better time to get up to speed on your first aid. There are plenty of snakes around, the kids will be swimming in the pool and harvest is nearly here. Book online or give Northam a call. See flyer for more details

18.01.2022 A big Thankyou to Donovan’s engineering for their very kind donation to help us purchase the new Corpuls3 monitors.

17.01.2022 Have you ever thought about volunteering with St John WA? There's a lot more to it than you may think and some parts may just be right for you. There are 3 levels of volunteering with St John. EMR - Emergency Medical Responder. This position entails some ongoing training but basically you will be a driver and transport patients between hospitals for further treatment or appointments, to and from Nursing homes and home care. There is generally notice given and you will be wor...king with an EMA or EMT. EMA - Emergency Medical Assistant. This used to be the 'level 1' position. There is an ongoing requirement for training and can involve transfers, emergency and non emergency calls. You can choose to complete extra training and become an EMT. EMT - Emergency Medical Technician. Previously level 2. Again there is ongoing training and units to complete but every step of the way you will be liaising with the Community Paramedic and other volunteers. In all 3 positions you only do what you feel comfortable with. If any of these positions sounds like something you would like to do please give our Community Paramedic, Drew, a call on 0437 524 088 or log on to stjohnchangelives.com.au and fill in the online application. 16.01.2022 Anyone can save a life. Knowing CPR and how to use a defibrillator could mean the difference between life and death. Ensure you know how to save a life - you never know if or when youll need these skills.

15.01.2022 As the weather starts cooling down, electric blankets get turned on, fires are lit and hot drinks are made so its a timely reminder to go over what to do if you or someone near you gets burned. Here is a handy go to sheet to help.

12.01.2022 Today, we remember those who fought and fell all those years ago. We will remember the brave men and women who fought for their country and did not return home.... We will not forget them. As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain, As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end, they remain. Laurence Binyon (18691943)

11.01.2022 We will be starting first aid courses again next year in Cunderdin but in the mean time if your group or sporting club wants a demo on using the defib or AED then send us an email [email protected]

11.01.2022 Just a couple of things that happened with St John Cunderdin this month.

11.01.2022 Just a couple of services St John WA offer.

08.01.2022 Some of our paramedics have helped deliver koala-lity care to our furry friends affected by the terrible bush fires over east. St John staff and volunteers have... taken the initiative to help treat the affected koalas by sending medical supplies over to the Two Llamas Environmental & Social Projects and the Port Stephens Koalas Hospital in New South Wales. The charitable donation lead by St John WA Paramedics, Brooke Hodgkinson, Sharron Holme, and supportive husband George Holme, was prompted after seeing the affected koalas in the media. The first shipment of supplies was successfully transported in the last couple of days thanks to Land Transport, who kindly donated their services to the cause. St John WA is currently working towards initiating a second shipment of supplies to help in this devastating national emergency. Read more: https://bit.ly/35tVa43

06.01.2022 Our Community Paramedic, Drew, and Sharon, our Emergency Medical Technician spent the morning at the Cunderdin Mens Shed discussing how to use the AED (defibrillator) and updating the group on the new volunteer role of EMR (Emergency Medical Responder). There were a lot of interested people asking Drew some great questions. After the chat everyone had a look through the ambulance and as some people pointed out, they were happier looking at the ambulance today than the last time when they were in it - keep up that sense of humour!! Thanks for having us.

06.01.2022 Good ole Russell Coight - who would've thought. Don't forget we have snake bite bandages for sale at the sub centre. Pop in on a Tuesday to grab yours.
