24.01.2022 As part of our standard procedure during COVID-19, and to ensure our patients receive the best and most appropriate prehospital care, our Crews will be asking all patients if they have any flu like symptoms. This is to protect our amazing Volunteers and our Community of Pingelly against the spread of any potentially infectious illness including COVID-19. When calling for an Ambulance, you will be asked by the 000 call taker if you have flu like symptoms. When our crews arrive..., they will ask you the same questions. Please don’t be scared to answer truthfully, even if you think you just have a mild cold. We have strict hygiene measures in place to keep you and our crews safe. Our goal is to help our community stay safe and stop the spread - but we can’t do that without our resilient and fantastic Community behind us. Stay safe Pingelly, The St John Team Pingelly

09.01.2022 Unless you’ve sat where this paramedic has sat, it’s hard to know what all goes on inside the confined space of an ambulance. It’s because we rarely get to see ...into this world that is unfamiliar to so many. It is a space often filled with the sound of sadness whether that of sobbing or screaming. It is a space that sees blood and broken bones. A space that feels life slowly fading away but still holds hope. But amongst the pain, a passion, to pursue all avenues to keep those dying, alive. A persistence to maintain a beating heart while treating the broken hearts of the loved ones left behind. It wasn’t for a job, no you don’t join EMS for a job. For those who wear the EMS patch on their sleeve, it’s a commitment to give your all on every call no matter how great or how small. To the PARAMEDICS and EMTs across the world, who serve us all, we will never know all that you see, but this week and always, we hope you hear this - thank you for all that you do. Happy National EMS Week! #emsweek2020 #paramedics #emts #thankyou See more
