25.01.2022 Thank you and well done to Mandy, Ike and Murray. Great work Thank you for the comment Bo!

20.01.2022 Let's meet some of our vollies! Many of you will know their friendly faces but we thought it was about time you got to know a bit more about them........ We'll start with Lorna, who has been with us the longest and will very soon be finishing up her on-road duties to enjoy a bit more time to herself. ... Lorna was born and bred in Northam but marriage brought her to York. In 1987, Lorna needed her Senior First Aid certificate in order to teach her aerobics class. Whilst doing the first aid course she was asked if she would consider volunteering. Lucky for us, she said yes! Lorna is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), has held various roles on our committee, was made a Life Member of the York sub centre in 2017, a Member of the Order of St John in 2018, and this year received her 4th Bar to the Service Medal, in addition to being an all-round great mentor and friend. The best experiences Lorna says she's had while volunteering are the life skills learned, friendships made, and that being there for your follow York citizens in their time of need is very special. Lorna and her husband run their own business in agriculture but are now semi-retired (sort of), and in her spare time she likes to practice yoga and have coffee with friends. Lorna says she is an open book; what you see is what you get. Thank you for all of the years of hard work and dedication you have put into our community and vollies, Lorna. While we will miss you on-road, we're glad that you'll have more time to practice yoga without jumping to answer a call. Lorna will still be around in a support role heading up the curation of our museum. If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, why not have a chat to Lorna when you see her around town, or simply apply online: https://stjohnwa.com.au//regio/volunteer-ambulance-officer

17.01.2022 Look at the new addition to our garden, just beautiful! Thanks to Ike Johnson, Robyn Johnson and Tim Hunt, and George and Lorna Saunders for getting it safely into its new home.

15.01.2022 Jody-Leigh has been volunteering with us in York since 2018. She is a very busy woman, working 3 jobs, studying nursing full time and volunteering! York has been home to Jody-Leigh for the last 12 years. She has a passion for helping people, and started volunteering because she wants to give back to the community that has given her so much. In her spare time (which there isn't much of) Jody-Leigh likes to spend time with her loved ones. ... Jody-Leigh is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and says the best experience volunteering with us in York is being part of an amazing and supportive team. If you see Jody-Leigh around, say hello and ask her about volunteering with St John York or apply online here. We need volunteers! https://stjohnwa.com.au//regio/volunteer-ambulance-officer

10.01.2022 A couple of different patients for our vollies Tricia and Ike tonight at the York Christmas Festival. The bloke in black sounded like he had some breathing difficulties

04.01.2022 Remembering Royce Today we farewelled one of our own. Royce had a very special demeanour and was able to calm and reassure some of our most apprehensive patients. His infectious smile and sense of humour is sorely missed. We are thinking of his wife, Helen, and sons Jake and Josh. They will always remain part of our green family
