25.01.2022 A very timely warning now the snakes are waking up.

19.01.2022 Great weekend with all the 'dirt' bikes. Well covered by our awesome volunteers.

18.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of #Shoctober. This week, Paramedic Brooke shows us how easy it is to use a defib. Did you know that it's NOT possible to hurt someon...e when using a defibrillator? The monitor within the defibrillator will read the patient's heart rate and shock if necessary. 11.01.2022 We're busting a myth today . If someone is experiencing hypothermia, please don't give them alcohol. Many people will tell you they feel warmer after having... a glass or two of their favourite tipple and they’re not lying. Alcohol does make you feel warmer however, alcohol has the effect of actually dropping your core temperature which can be very dangerous for someone suffering from hypothermia. Hypothermia can set in when body temperature falls below 35.0C and common symptoms include severe shivering, slurred speech and a slowed heart rate. People experiencing or at risk of hypothermia should remove any wet or damp clothes if possible, wrap themselves in a blanket and cover their heads with a beanie. A warm drink will also help, just make sure to steer clear of beer and spirits. Maybe a hot choccy milk might suit better?

02.01.2022 Did you know that it is impossible to hurt someone with a defibrillator? AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators) are designed to recognise if there is a heart ...rhythm or not and will only shock a patient if it detects no heart beat. This is often the reason why people are afraid to defib a patient, they're scared they are going to cause harm or make the jump up like in the movies. This is simply not true! For Restart a Heart Week, we're celebrating with some affordable defib packages for personal or work use. Introducing a defib into your community could make a serious impact to someone in need. We want to see more easily accessible defibs out there to help increase out of hospital cardiac arrest survival chances.
