25.01.2022 Friday marked the end of our NAIDOC week celebrations. Our usual whole school celebration was replaced with individual form meetings which recognised and celebrated the 2020 NAIDOC theme of Always Was, Always Will Be. This recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years and are spiritually and culturally connected to this country. Our students painted our NAIDOC Instagram frame and spent many hours painting eucalypt leaves collected from the lovely SJL grounds, which our Wonnarua ancestors cared for so beautifully. We them used these to create our NAIDOC wreath.
25.01.2022 Students proudly wore and supported the Mark Hughes Foundation today by donating money and purchasing beanies to raise money for brain cancer research.
25.01.2022 Very blest to have the extensive meadows of Lochinvar to run our Cross Country on a gorgeous afternoon
24.01.2022 Our beautiful environment is the perfect place for native birds to flourish and they know that someone will add a little piece of apple to their diet! Their colourful plumage was very much reflected in some of the outfits worn today as part of our retro Vinnies Appeal Day!
24.01.2022 Congratulations to Josephine! Listed on the NSW Distinguished Merit List as an All Rounder achieving Band 6 in all courses. ATAR of 99.30!... We are very proud of you. You epitomise our school motto Strength in Difficulties. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for you!
24.01.2022 As we said goodbye to Term 2, we took time to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students. Whilst we could not host our awards celebration with the wider St Josephs community, it was still important to recognise the many gifts and talents of students across the College. In particular, there was recognition of students in Year 12 for Academic Excellence in four or more subjects and students from Years 7-11 who received five or more Consistent Effort certificates. Congratulations to all students who were recognised for their efforts during Semester One.
24.01.2022 A great opportunity for parents

22.01.2022 The 2020 Yearbook was distributed to students (youngest in the family) last week. For Year 10 and 12 students, or any student who was absent and would like to collect their copy, this can only be done on either Monday 14/12 or Tuesday 15/12. Please come to the main office during school hours for collection. Any yearbooks that are not collected on either of these days will have to be collected when school returns in 2021.

21.01.2022 The feast of St Mary of Cross MacKillop was celebrated through quiet prayer with a variety of different student groups (abiding with COVID requirements) throughout the day. Our students responded prayerfully and had a short time to reflect on Marys call to "never see a need without doing something about it".

12.01.2022 Vale Mrs. Ann Akers On Friday 13th November, our much respected and loved colleague and friend Ann Akers was laid to rest after suffering a very sudden stroke. Typical of Ann’s selflessness, even in death she has given the ultimate gift of life to many who would have been struggling to remain people of hope by making it known to her family that she wanted to be an organ donor. The community of St Joseph’s has been truly blest to have experienced Ann’s 26 years of loving dedic...ated service; service characterized by compassion, humility, hospitality, courage and justice. Ann’s view was that she lived a life of worth, not a life of work and that it was a gift to be in a place each day that she considered ‘home’. Many people who started out as Ann’s colleagues have become her close friends; they clearly recognized her enduring loyalty, her great kindness, her ‘down to earth’ approach, her great care and compassion. As a former student of the College from Kindergarten to Year 10, Ann had a great love of all things Lochinvar, particularly the Sisters who continued to be an anchor throughout the ups and downs of her life. We express our sincere condolences to Ann's family and friends and thank our parent community for their awesome support in our request for a pupil free day, so that all of the staff could be part of the live-stream of the Ann's funeral Mass. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, may Ann rest in peace. We will miss her positive attitude, her care of others and her zest for life each and every day. See more

09.01.2022 It is with much excitement and gratitude that SJL is looking forward to welcoming Leonie Priest back to volunteer with us in the school canteen once again in 2021! This would not be possible without the generosity of Officeworks Rutherford, who have organised for Leonie to work with us every Wednesday this year rather than her usual employment in-store as part of their program to connect with the wider community. We are delighted to learn that Officeworks have committed to volunteering with us every fortnight next year and we could not be more excited to have Leonie back!
