18.01.2022 A Message from our Lifestyle Team

16.01.2022 What kind of energy are you putting out into the world, YOUR world? Have you heard this saying: " ." This is a variation of quote from Buddha: " , ."... Practicing "putting good out into the world" has many benefits including: It not only helps you deal with stress better, the good you put out there may be just the thing to alleviate the stress of another! Putting good out there can increase your life expectancy! A recent study found a link between giving, unselfishness and a lower risk of early death. Putting good out there actually motivates you to do it again & again. Research found that reflecting on your past good deeds makes you feel selfless and want to help more, as compared to reflecting on the times others have helped you. I want to challenge you all to put some good out there, it only take a little bit of energy but the impact can be huge. Be that #One Connection today that can change a life. It may be your own life that you change.

05.01.2022 Port Pirie woman celebrates 101st birthday It was appropriate that she toasted her birthday with water on Saturday because she is a teetotaller, but there is deeper meaning. "Just look around this table," she said of the family members and friends who turned out for a celebratory High Tea for her special day. ... "The town is so friendly. I never thought I would live to be 101." When asked how she felt, the St Joseph's Home resident said: "I would not have a care. I don't drink or smoke and I have always been friendly with everyone and if everyone did, it would be a better world." The centenarian-plus senior citizen, whose maiden name was Thornton, was born in Islington, England, and lived in Hastwell. "It is just a little village. I am a village girl," she said. "I came to Australia with my husband Norman in 1947 on November 1 after the war. "I could have gone to Canada or America, but I chose Australia. "We stayed near the railway station in Adelaide then came straight to Port Pirie on the train. "I was covered with all sorts of twigs on the way and thought, 'what have I done?'. Then we stopped at Bowmans and had a pie." Her late husband worked in the railways for 31 years and they had a son and daughter. "I have always been a Mum," she said.
