25.01.2022 Year 3 Technology in Mathematics - This week the children have been measuring and ordering lengths. They had lots of fun using the app Measure on the iPad's as a measuring tool. The children also used their estimating skills to program Spheros to draw lines of different lengths.

21.01.2022 Last Friday our Kinder students celebrated their reading and writing during the annual Teddy Bear Picnic. They brought their favourite soft toys to school to join in the beary fun activities. During the day our Kinders took part in teddy bear games and dancing, read books about bears, made themed artwork and teddy crowns along with the all-important bear hunt. We celebrated our learning in a day full of fun for all of Kindergarten.

19.01.2022 Today, 10 of our Year 5 students participated in a Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (PMHC) virtual Future Think Youth Summit. We were lucky enough to connect with a variety of different schools across the Hastings area planning for the year 2050.

18.01.2022 Lainey Campbell has been announced as the winner of the St Joey’s Co Spaces Christmas Nativity Coding Competition. Mr Porter our AP Mission presented her with her Micro:bit prize today. Lainey spent many hours coding her Nativity scene that had seven pages of coding. Mrs Blundell would like to thank all the students who entered and she said she was super impressed with the level of coding expertise our students displayed.

17.01.2022 We celebrated the culmination of the primary school years for our Year 6 students this week with their mass, awards, dinner, fun day and final farewell ceremony. It has been a pleasure to work with these students and their families. We wish them the very best in their moving on to high school. A very big thanks to all parents and staff who made the graduation events so very special.

16.01.2022 Next week we’ll celebrate World Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 9th February 2021. The theme for 2021 is start the chat. The Office of the eSafety Commissioner has developed several engaging activities for students and their parents/carers in support of this important celebration. A new picture book will be released on the 9th February that features the eSafety Sugar Glider twins, Swoosh and Glide that Kinder to Year 2 will be reading. Year 3 to 6 will attend a live Virtual Cla...ssroom Activity hosted by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner. The focus of this activity is Be an eSafe Kid: Fake News, real harms. 15.01.2022 Today our school came together as a whole for our Week 3 assembly led by the SRC. Our beautiful new Kindergartens attended the assembly and were welcomed with a special blessing.

11.01.2022 This term in Science, Year 3 has been exploring the topic States of Matter. As part of the unit the children had to design, conduct and evaluate their own experiment which demonstrated a change of matter. Each group then presented their findings to the class. There were many talented young scientists of the future!!

11.01.2022 Kinder wrote Santa letters last week and this week Santa wrote back to Kinder! How exciting! We had a special delivery by our class elves who brought them back from the North Pole for us.

11.01.2022 Year 1 has been very busy this term really focusing on improving their English and Maths skills and all their hard work is really starting to pay off. They have been having fun and learning a lot through Martial Arts, Science Week, Christian Meditation, the athletics carnival and digital learning. Just to name a few things. Our clever Year 1 students have also today completed the STAR program. The growth from these students have been incredible! Congratulations to you all.

09.01.2022 What an amazing time Year 4 have had and Term 4 has not held us back. From Healthy Harold to building ‘A Better Mousetrap’, deepening our understanding of the British Colonisation and the effect this has had on Indigenous Australians and developing our skills in tennis. We have created COVID-19 safe homes in Science and danced up a storm in Creative Arts. We have explored Bee Bots, Makey Makey’s, Sphero’s and virtual reality. It feels like we have done it all and had no time to rest. So many highlights!!!

07.01.2022 During Week 8 and 9 Year 1's PBS focus was "No Hands On". We discussed games to play in the playground with our friends where we did not have to touch each other. We learnt how to play the Scissors Paper Rock Battle and are teaching others in infants on how to play it. We also learnt about aeroplane arms and this allows us to have our own personal space. The students said "It was like social distancing".

05.01.2022 Kinder love painting and creating in their Visual Arts lessons. Last week Kinder made mixed media tigers and the finished product looks fabulous!
