07.01.2022 #stayathome While Victorians are self-isolating and community spaces such as the St Kilda Library and St Kilda Army and Navy Club (the venue for many of our recent events) are closed, the Society will not be holding any public events. Our planned April display in the library entrance will not go ahead either. The committee has been meeting via Zoom. At our last meeting we discussed what we could provide for members during the COVID-19 restrictions. We are looking at how we ...can be more active online, and expand two-way communications. Our ideas so far: We encourage you to keep sending your queries to the website, although matters requiring access to the library can’t be dealt with while the library is closed. This time of social distancing is good for undertaking projects such as family history, or investigating the lives of people of historical interest, for which many resources are available online. An important role for the Society during this time will be to suggest ways we can help members with such projects. We are in the process of improving our self-help resource page and planning a Zoom demonstration. Our April newsletter is out now, and we will increase the frequency of publication to bi-monthly, with our next one scheduled for June. We very much welcome contributions from members your family stories and images. Send them to [email protected]

05.01.2022 The winners of our short story competition have been announced on our web site! Congratulations to all! Please see our web site for information about how to join as a member of the St Kilda Historical Society.
