25.01.2022 HELLO HELLO Well fellow tragic golfers the weather is starting to heat up and the course will take a bit of a beating (last nights rain was much needed and will make it resplendent again). Another reminder could all golfers please replace divot's and fill with sand on the the tee's and fairways.... Last Thursday saw a few poor scores from a couple of blokes who enjoyed the night before a bit to much. Bernie and Kev (Rowdie were in hot form along with St Leonards finest barman). Few of us haven't been able to play lately (as they say someone has to keep the economy going). We'll be back this week. Coming up is a golf day sponsored by Bernie Dumont and the St Leonards golf club. The event is scheduled for the 12th December 2020 so mark it in your calendar. As usual there will be a 10am start followed by drinks, a feed and prizes to the winners. Should be a great day. Further update regarding the above event. The event will be named the Christmas cup. It is a two person ambrose with a shotgun start. So the more female players the better. (The sponsor of the event is gifting heaps in prizes ) There is a planned memorial day event for Kenny Flakemore in late January 2021 so all those who knew Kenny (champion golfer who played to 94 years of ages and still beat many of us) look out for further details. Planned is a game of golf along with the memorial followed by drinks and a meal. Updates to come

25.01.2022 Hello fellow golfers of St Leonards Well another nice drop of rain. Won't do the course any harm. Later into spring it will look magnificent (bloody great at the moment) However all this rain means the course is flooded again meaning the course is closed until further notice... So please respect the committee's decision there will be plenty of golfing in the near future. Below is a picture of the 11th green, which is under water again as are many other parts of the course. Hopefully we'll be back on Thursday (otherwise i'll be taking a much needed golf lesson) Stay well and safe

20.01.2022 well hello their golfing tragics. Another few beautiful days lately and more to come we hope. The course looks fantastic with the fairways, greens and surrounds all looking well kept. Soon it will have to be renamed Royal St Leonards... I has been stated previously the course is maintained by volunteers mostly the players. They do a fantastic job given they are volunteers and love the course. So for any current players or those considering playing could you please make sure you repair all diverts on the fairways and the greens. There are plenty of sand buckets close to the club room and near the first tee along with sand (remember to always fill up your buckets after use). This would be much appreciated and will help with the course continuing in its great shape. PS if you played today (30/10/2020) and left your putter behind it will be in the clubhouse and can be collected on Saturdays, Wednesday or Thursdays.

19.01.2022 Gday all, bit of fun/something different for Saturday, we going to have an Irish Stableford. So basically it’s Stableford played in pairs, but your points are multiplied. For eg. if you and your partner both have 2 points on a hole, it’s 2 X 2 which equals 4 points to team, or if you both have 3 points, it’s 3 X 3 = 9 points. But if 1 player has 3 points and the other has 0 points, it’s 3 X 0 = 0 points on the hole for the team.... Hopefully we will have a bbq and the presentation, just have to iron out some COVID guidlines. Cheers

18.01.2022 Seen lots of mushrooms on course lately, keep an eye out everyone

16.01.2022 hello golfing world Just a quick reminder. So get on down to course and try your luck with all the other mad keen golfers see u there

10.01.2022 https://m.facebook.com//a.3119159723324/1438356173021761/ Wonder if this would pass our liquor license or COVID restrictions

05.01.2022 Just a little update regarding the clubs own rules and changes. At present and given how well the course looks (all the volunteers a big pat on the back) there a few changes including: - where practicable play the ball as it lies on the fairways. - if you have to move ball on course there is only one club length... - on the clubhouse side all areas previously stated as GUR are play as you lie (where marked GUR then able to move ball) - in bunkers you can move ball and rake sand to get a softer lie (although you cant mound the ball up) - behind the fifteenth is out of bounds. Ball can be retrieved and placed where able to play shot. Penalty stroke There are a few other changes however discuss with Captain and or other committee members Good golfing

03.01.2022 Hello to St Leonards Golfers A big day for golfers and club alike yesterday with a turnout of nearly 50 players for the two person ambrose. The weather held out with only a few showers; the remaining day was warm and light breezes. A hotly contested day for golf for some and an enjoyable round for others whilst enjoying a few sherberts supplied during the day by Brendan and Mick.... Afterwards I sure the drinks went down well along with the hamburgers expertly catered for by Carole, Fiona, Leanne and Steve. A great day by all and a big thanks to all those who turned out and supported the club. Another big thanks to all the volunteers who have contributed to make the course look bloody alright indeed. Thank you

03.01.2022 This swingless golf club could be your secret weapon for finally beating your buddies.
