15.01.2022 ROAD NAMING The New Lord Street dual carriageways are now open to traffic, with the new road named Drumpellier Drive. Traffic commenced travelling on the dual carriageways constructed as part of the New Lord Street project in April 2019.... Main Roads thanks local residents and road users for their ongoing patience during the construction period. The City of Swan has advised the renaming of existing roads in the project area. Upon completion of the project, the following road names will be in effect; New Lord Street will be known as Drumpellier Drive Lord Street between Dayton Boulevard and Youle-Dean Road will be renamed Isoodon Street Lord Street between Park Street roundabout and Gnangara Road will be renamed as Starflower Road. 10.01.2022 Various road closures and intermittent night works - DAYTON & ELLENBROOK AREA Various intermittent night works and road closures will be in place throughout the Dayton and Ellenbrook area. The project is currently working with an aggressive program of works to complete remaining works on existing roads, which requires closures of multiple roads at various times. Please see various notifications below;... Gnagnara Road / Drumpellier Drive / New Lord Street intersection: Wednesday 29 May - end July 8pm to 6am (intermittent nights) Roadworks Notification Lord Street between Dayton Boulevard and Cranleigh Street: 31 May - End July Full Closure Lord Street between Reid Highway and Marshall Road: 30 & 31 May 9pm - 5am 1 Jun - End July 9pm - 5am (intermittent nights) Main Roads will minimise noise impacts on the local community as much as possible, however, some noise associated with vehicle movements and ‘safety squawkers’ (which are quieter than standard beepers) on reversing machinery will be heard. 04.01.2022 New Lord Street Stage 1 opening! Road closures and detours for traffic switch. In preparation for the opening of the first stage of New Lord Street between Marshall Road to Park Street, the following road closures will be in place on Wednesday 3 April 2019 from 8pm to 5am for New Lord Street to be operational on 4 April 2019. Temporary closure of the new Marshall Road intersection and roundabout Temporary closure of Marshall Road between Lord Street and Rugby Street. Loc...al/Resident access only on Marshall Road between Altone Road and Rugby Street. Temporary closure of Lord Street between Park Street and Youle-Dean Road Detours shown in map below. Impact on Bus Services From Thursday 4 April the following bus stops will be impacted; Park Street Bus Stops permanently removed from operation Charlton Way will be relocated to the same location on New Lord Street. Pedestrians will be required to cross the project work site during work hours. A traffic control person will be assisting pedestrians as required, whilst works are not operational fencing/barriers will be in place to separate the path and work area. Whiteman Park on Lord Street will be relocated to New Lord Street Lord Street after Cranleigh Street will no longer be operational.
